I got tired of stripping the stock 54 tooth spur gear so I purchased the 44Tooth Robinson Racing Spur gear. Could going from the 54 to the 44 make a big difference on why my Maxx doesnt ride wheelies as well anymore?

Yes, you geared it up 20% .
drop pinion a couple teeth to maintain same ratio if possible.

Why were you stripping so many spur gears to begin with? Just wondering. Maybe your slipper was'nt adjusted properly for the conditions you were running in or the way you run or was the mesh not set right? The Robinson is a metal gear right? I would always want to know why I was going through spur gears before throwing a metal gear on it. Now if there is an issue something will still give and it might be something more costly and harder to fix versus a plastic spur gear. Maybe you already know the answer to the original problem but if not I would reconsider the metal gear. Thats just the way I think and does'nt make it right but only my opinion.

I completely agree with sb. There is an underlying issue as to why your spurs are stripping. Solve that issue and you are golden

The real issue was incorrect gear mesh and rushing to get back out and not putting locktite on the motor mount screws. With correct mesh and tight screws, the metal gear has given me no problems, other than the loss of low end torque.
