Running my truck yesterday i had ran two tanks throught it and on the third tank was doing full speed circles when i did a straight run the motor stopped. When i tried to pull the pull start it seem siezed when i pulled it harder it freed up when it started it went about 20 ft and stop again. The pull start tight again. So i freeded it up checked my high speed jet with was 2 turns back it out and got it running again it seem sluggest so i turn the high speed in to 1 1/2 turns at it ran the last half of the tank great no problems. What could have cause the stopping and is there something i should do or look at before i run it again. It was 28 Deg c could the heat be the problem?

check for something that may have bound it up be it in the clutchbell or what not...I would tear the engine down and inspect it closely if it was mine.

I would take the head off...the backplate off...and maybe even remove the rod and piston to inspect the engine....

Weeze.....

You will be looking for any OBVIOUS damage of course. Like broken parts or metal shavings.
But more specifically you be looking at the Piston Sleeve to see if it has any deep scratches or even grooves. Look at the top of the piston for scorch marks (thats common and ok) and PITTING (thats NOT ok).

When you take apart the BACK PLATE (where the pullstart is) be careful of the flimsy paper gasket that seals the backplate. It is easy to damage.

Also, take your time removing the pullstart (so it doesnt go SPROING! ), that way you wont have to rewind the pullstart spring.

One last thing. Take note of which way the PISTON ROD is facing, so you put it back correctly. (It CAN be installed backwards, which would be bad...)

Here is a GREAT video showing how to safely disassemble/reassemble an RC engine.

Dont be afraid to take it apart. It's Really very easy, and something that we ALL end up doing.

Thanks again to all who have help me. Took my motor apart and everything looks good no wear or dirt inside piston rod looks fine so guess something other then the motor must have caused the problem but everything seems good now. Will try to run it in the next day or two just to make sure
Thanks all
