Does anyone have any suggestions for removing vinyl mask residue from a Top Flite Lustrekote Paint finish. My Paint job looks great but there is a very thin layer of residue from the mask. I used a Parma rc car mask. I have tried alcohol - I works but not great. I am going to try some goo gone next; however I read on another post to use lighter fluid - Yikes! Not sure if I want to put the finish at risk. Does anyone have any experience using either "Goo Gone" or Lighter Fluid on Lustrekote?

Thanks for any help.

Goo Gone is the right stuff for the job.

Thunder,

I make model graphics and I'm a modeler. We have a chemical, in the sign trade, that's designed to remove this kind of adheasive.

Go to your local Sign Shop and ask for some. Say you're willing to pay. Bring a bottle.

Most likely, if you choose a large shop, you may get the bottle toped for free. No, I wouldn't suggest you tote in a jug.

Also, while your in there, rave about the signs they make. Then ask for the "left overs" in vinyl material. They through this stuff out!

Yes, it's fuel proof.

Go get um!
