I just saw a guy at my local track with it! It was awesome! He was running it on these huge 4 cell lipos (obviously) and it ripped!! It seem to handle pretty well and it looks really sleek. Is anyone else seeing them pop up at their track?

A guy I run into regularly at a bashing spot just finished building one, very impressive vehicle. The 8ight itself is an excellent platform, and coupled with brushless power its hard to beat.

I haven't seen the factory E-8ight yet, but there are several custom converted 1/8th scale buggies at my track, including one or two 8ights, a GS Storm(I think?), and an RC8. To my knowledge, all are using either Mamba Max ESCs(not the new MMM) and Neu motors on 4S or Novak HV systems on 4S. All are very impressive and make me want to ditch my nitro cars the way I ditched most of my nitro planes......*sigh* if only it weren't for the upfront costs.

Yes, it is shocking, but once you get past the initial investment, you make up for it and then some. I've been running conversions for a couple of years. The longer I run them, the cheaper it gets compared to nitro. Now that I have everything, I can go months without spending ANY money...other than entry fees.

^I'm sure I'll be making the switch soon. I am building a 6' wingspan J-3 cub which is being converted from a .40 nitro to an AXI outrunner. The same 2x 2S lipos in series I'd use for a 1/8 conversion would be just right to power that AXI, so once I get the plane built, I can talk my wife into letting me buy the packs. "Gee Honey, I'll save money if I buy new batteries - look I can use them in my plane, my 1/10 cars, and my 1/8 car " wink, nudge.
