Hi Guys

Its great that there is a new large scale car the HPI Baja 5T.

I just bought a Baja 5B SS a couple of days before the Baja 5T was released. Before seeing the pictures I said to myself #$@^%#$..... Should have waited a few days more and get a later model car .

However after seeing pictures of the car I have no regrets about my 5B SS purchase .

The Baja 5B SS is more scale looking and really looks great compared to the 5T.

I'll have a 5B anytime over the 5T . And the lower price of the 5B is an added bobus...

It would be interesting to have a poll to know which one do you guys prefer on look mainly.

The main criteria for this poll is on look. However feel free to add comments on price, hop-ups, electronics etc.

I like the look of both of them, but between them the buggy wins

I just don't like buggies.. That sais, for a buggy, the 5B is good-looking.. Easily better looking than any nitro buggy..

But I voted 5T..

I've been a big fan of the trophy trucks for a very long time so short of the silly little truggy like wing on the back, I would go with the truck. I already have one on order, but as i said, I'll be taking that wing off right out of the box.

I llove my baja, and I really like the 5t, but the body dosnt look right on it... maybe the other Trohpy truck body would look better on it. Ya know the one that converts the baja to the truck. I still vote for the baja SS.

I would like to see how much the 5t's body will be selling for now compared to the other people making them??? and how many people will just convert the 5b over to the 5t? if people are buying the truck bodies now, it would be cheaper in the long run juts to convert you 5b over...

which will be better for the sand???
I am going to say the buggy plus you don't have the added weight of the body and all that hardware to hold it on.
I have changed my mind going to build a SS buggy when I get some money in a few months.

So what is the differances in them? 5T has truck wheels and truck body and the 5B has a buggy body and buggy tires, small ones in front. Is this the only differances? I voted for the 5T as best looking.
I noticed the buggy is cheeper but it doesnt come with a radio system.

Wow, the even split of the poll shows HPI are onto a good idea. Shame on them for not making the CORR truck a 4x4 though.

+1

Agree those 2 products are too similar and might compete against each other from a commercial point of view.....

However its a good thing for us consumers. More choices and options.

If I had the money I would. I voted for the 5T. I also agree with FOXY on them not making it 4WD They should atleast make a part that you can buy to make it 4WD.

5B for sure looks better. 5T could have been made with less of the stuff that they have on it, and would have sold for less too.

Too bad no 4wd

I dunno, maybe it's just the body…and maybe the stance too, but something about the 5T just doesn't look quite right to me. Looks like an oversized r/c stadium truck with a body lift and short arms. I totally get building/designing off the successful and proven 5B to come out with a truck version. But maybe they should have used a trophy truck style cage and replica/scale body and call it a pre-runner. Replica trophy-truck or trophy truck styled 2WD pre-runner seems perfect for a large scale that's more likely to see true desert use and bashing. I think that's where this truck's heart is but man the styling just isn't right. Hopefully that can be corrected with just an aftermarket body assuming the track and wheelbase of this truck is scale.

My vote has to go to the 5B.

I voted for the 5B. Why? I already have one, the SS kit. I do like the trucks and I do like the scale like appearence too. But I still think the buggy looks better, not to mention the difference in price.

XtFreak,

What's up! Another Jacksonville, FL basher here. I'm running a Savage X with some hop ups and a 5b SS with lots of hop ups. I live close to Hobby World on 103rd, on the west side. I frequent over to HobbyTown on University once in a while. I'm trying to locate some other 5b owners in Jax, and I know they're out there. Point them to me if you know them. Better yet, please refer them here:

If you want to bash sometime drop me an email. I bash with another bud who has a Savage X. Take it easy.

Of course the 5B is better looking! If I were to ask you which looked better....an apple or an orange, I'm sure you'd know the anwer right away! So naturally, by comparison with apples and oranges, the 5B looks better.

hehehehehe.............

Seriously, I like both. I do tend to like the 5B better because it looks like my old 1970's Cox Sandblaster, which I had a lot of fun with many years ago. In fact, I wish all those 1/8 buggies (i.e. OFNA) looked like the 5B. In fact, they used to.....back in the mid-80s............

...........those were the days............................sigh
