Will the OS 1.60 fit in your .90-1.20 Yak? I have seen the OS 1.60 in two planes at my club and I am impressed.

Yes. The O.S. 1.60 is a great choice because it will give you lots of power for this airframe. If you do a search in the .90-1.20 thread, you will a find some people who used this combo and got great results. I believe you will have to cut the cowl for the cylinder head.

Thanks for your help. As soon as my things sell here on RCU, I think I'm going to grab that combo. AeroWorks suggests 180 in/oz servos for that airframe. HiTec 5985MG are 172 in/oz. No 3D here, just a Sunday pattern guy. What do you think?

i use the hitec 5625 on alerons and elevators and more than enough power for 3d with those servos. i think that size servo they recomend for the 50cc yak, extra's. use a higher torque servo for rudder though. i also run 6v battery's

Are you flying the AW 1.20 Yak? I have always used 6V batteries, good idea.

yes i have the 1.20 yak with a saito 150 and love it. 5625s and a 5985 on rudder. aeroworks say a 140oz servo for that plane and the 5625's are fast and strong.

go to aeroworks website and look at the reviews they have under the yak's info. the 125 will fly it fine but 3d will be marginal, and at your altitude it might be worse im not sure. i have a saito 150 and wished that i got the 180 but the 150 is a good motor. the 125 will require alot of nose weight to cg properly. if you are using 160oz servo's that will be more than enough they will work great. put it on and see how you like it, if you don't sell it on rcu and buy a 180 saito or even a os 160 which people seem to like also. os also came out with a 200 4stroke that is also fairly light.

sean,
I flew at 8600' all summer, the rule of thumb at the field was 3% power loss for every 1000'
so a 125 at 7000' will fly like a 100. I don't know what that means to this airframe but expect power of a 100

Sti warrior, I just test flew two A-W .90-1.20 size Yak's a couple weeks ago for two friends of mine. One with a YS 110 ( came out of a funtana X 100 ) and the other with the YS 140. Both nice combo's flew great, although I liked the Yak with YS 140 up front better combo for 3D.
When I went up to Sturgis S.D to test fly the Yaks I took my OMP 65" Profile 55-SP Yak with and let them fly it. cool profile OS 120AX 2Cycle, Hitec 5985 mg servo's lithium bat and 6V reg. Bet ya can't tell I like Yak's jerrysu29 Call Sign Wild Man
