Well, I finally did it, I ordered up the 75cc Extra 260. Not from Aero Works directly, but through the (somewhat) local hobby shop. I've been humming and ha-ing about it for a while now. I've had the ZDZ Super-80 sitting in a box for almost a year waiting for a plane to show up and I figured the best way to tidy it up off the shelf was to mount it to something . It likely won't fly until spring though, as it will be getting very cold here quickly. That's ok, I think I prefer the building part over the flying (even if it is an ARF). I have most, if not all, the servos for it already, just need the battery setup and spinner pretty much. Once I maiden it I will be looking at a 100cc size likely next with the possibility of a turbo-prop .

With the QB Series, you'll have it assembled in 10-12 Hours. Mine has served me well and I'm very impressed with Aeroworks.

Well, I likely won't see the plane for a few weeks, and by then it will be around freezing, and I will also be in the middle of moving!

Does anybody who has installed a ZDZ Super 80 in one of these have any pointers?! How did it balance? Thanks!

I don't have the Extra but I do have the 75cc Yak with the ZDZ Super 80 and it's a rocket! I had no problem with the balance so I would think you will be fine also. The QB series planes are some of the best out there.

I have one with the 80RV, not the super but weights almost the same. You can install everything where the manual states and just play around with the batteries to find the perfect CG.
It´s a rocket with the rv, the super will be monster power for this plane!!

Juanes - I am planning to buy the 75cc for an 80RV I have. I am planning on using a JBM header and cannister. Do you have any idea of the drop required for the header?
Many thanks.

Well, I have received the wings and cowl so far, just waiting for the fuselage box and everything else. Hopefully it arrives in the next day or two, before the weekend.

Some pictures from this spring, the Spinner is a NOVA Extra from Airwild. The picture doesn't do it justice, very shinny, high Quality.

Yes four will fit, I have three HD switches; two on the left side for Rx and one on the right side for IGN.

I've managed to get a little work done so far. Lots to do when you buy a house! A high of -5C today, so I don't think I'll be doing any flying until spring. I will at least run it though .

Good to hear you,ve got it running. If you,ve got some video of it that would be good.
I too ordered one through Great Hobbies last week, I can,t wait for it to arrive.
I,ve got a 3W-80xi engine arriving this week as well and am glad to see its a recommended power plant as per the manual.

So, Im assuming that since they mention 1.25 arms on the ailerons, that they are the same on the Elevator's? I started mine last night, so far so good. Starting the elevators tonight, but it doesnt mention on this part the size of the arm to use? I have some 1.5's from my sukhoi, but they look to be really misaligned with the horns.

Can anyone chime in?

I haven't checked my control throws yet, so I can't comment right now. I might get to that tonight. I just used the stock jr arms for now until I know where i stand. for high rate or 3D i'm assuming you will need at least 1.5" arms all around
