It would be good if you could show the bottom of the hull.
About the engine I can say only two things. It seems to me to be a .21 with one "OS" type carb and you will have some work to put the engine in running condition.
Could you give the sze of the hull?

Let´s imagine the engine is in good shappe. I would mount a mocom Propeller 1816 ( you can buy at prestwich models UK) a fuel tank and would go to the pound. A 25% nitro fuel with at least 15% castor oil.
Firstly check everything and then try to run the boat.
Good Luck
P.S. In the past around 1970, more or less, such a kind of hull would need a .40 engine, but this was 38 years ago.

Does that mean that the hull is 38 years old!! sorry but I've had the boat going for 3 months now. Its got a Octura 1240 prop on it, and i first started it on 20% but it wasnt really that fast so im currently running it on 40%. The motor still has great compression and on 40% its pretty quick. I will post up some shots of her in the water when i get a chance to take it out.

I don´t know the age of this boat, but the type of the the hull´s shape that is in the photo is about 38 years old. The size and type of the propeller I gave you is a starting point. As everybody knows the best way to find th right propeller is to try. If your boat is running it´s great. Try some submerged type propellers around 40mm diameter.

Thanks for that Espiga. I think the prop i have on it know is a 40mm but i not sure if its a submerged type prop. How can you tell the difference?

Usually the shape of the blades is different as they work in different conditions
http://www.icboats.org/boat/documents-pdf/propeller%20and%20ruder%20information.pdf Here you have some good information.
Submerged propeller as a rule is more thinner in the trailing edge area.
About the Octra 1240 I think they work well as submerged but as you can see in this site
http://modelmarinesupplies.co.uk/shop/product_info.php?cPath=53&products_id=121&osCsid=eb69ce718d89e8940465e894b1708acc
They are too big for your engine.
I would try a mocom 1816 or a plastic Radio-Active X-35 5mm. The Octura X-438 may work (but it seems to me they are better for surface).

Many thanks again Espiga. I will to try to find them props from an aussie store first only because postage will be more than the prop . Is there a noticeable difference between a metal prop and a plastic one?

Yes there is difference, but this is important for racing. For sport use a plastic propeller is OK.
