i asked this local hobby shop in my area how much he wants for a hpi baja5b RTR and he says $1500 i dunno but sounds like a ripp off to me and when i said to him shouldnt the price be lower since the new 5T came out , and he says nah mate i dunno anything about a new model coming out ,like him pretending he knew nothing about it so he could sell his hpi baja 5b rtr's lol this is the same guy that made me pay $900 for a new savage x 4.6 , but since that i never set foot back in his shop lol.

At today's conversion rate that is $1188 USD. I would expect a LHS here in the states would probably ask $1000 USD. Do Aussie shop owners have to extra duties that would inflate the price?

If not then that guy is definitely inflating the price.

The hobby shops around here want $959.00 Canadian for a RTR and about $900.00 for the SS. Whey they are cheaper here than to US is anybodys guess.
I picked up my SS back in March on sale for $859.00 CDN and saw it shortly after on sale for $829.00

LOL! I'm with you Kemo! I have two hobby shops near me, and neither one of them regularly sells 1/5 scales. One of the shops has a used rc1 for sale right now, but that's about it. It's a little disappointing and surprising seeing as how they have an xrc grizzly (or is it xtm?) on a shelf as a decoration. You would think they'd keep just one baja in stock, out of box, on display. I'm sure somebody would buy it for the "Wow!" factor. Anywho, I suppose I should stop because my comment is getting eerily close to a rant.

man i wish i was living in the USA , if i win a few million in the lotto im over there in a flash . yeah i have three LHS in my area and the first decent hobby shop that i always go to said he sells them for $1500 - $1600 but wasnt sure if he'd continue to sell them that high and even addmited that they should be even lower cos he said the fact that the new 5T was arriving at his shop so he'd maybe expect a price drop in the baja5b rtr , i have one last guy to ring up maybe tommorow and see what he says but i have a feeling he went out of business cos his website doesnt exist anymore lol . ill try my luck with the expensive guy and ask him how serious he is to have my bussiness either drop some money off the price or i walk out the door

Alright my LHS in Canada has the RTR version for $950, now in Australian dollars that is $1,125. Which should come up to about $1,200 depending what and how much tax you are charged.

So for $1,500 is is most deffinatly trying to make a few extra hundred dollars. I would deffinatly NOT buy it from him unless you convice him other wise he is selling his products for to much and if he doesn't lower that price down ATLEAST $200 you can get it elseware.

It would be cheaper anywhere else compared to his shop!

I usually run down in North Edmonton, we have a really nice wide open field here with a lot of rollers in the grass that you can get huge air off. Extremely fun!

Been doing a little research too

My LHS here in Perth has both the RTR & the SS kit for $1350. yet to find a better price in australian

http://www.mashobbies.com.au/mashobbies/content/products/category_sub.aspx?intProductCategoryID=237

Our dollar aint that strong atm (~80.9USD atm)

Amain Hobbies in the US has them for $899 + $200 for shipping. thats $1320aus. But paypal rate is always a little lower. so you'll end up paying more
