the silver shafts bolt to the chassis where the pivots bolt in for the current linkage ... then the plastic rings are bushings, i would replace them with bearings from the start they go in the blue steering linkage then onto the silver shafts that ya bolted to the chassis ...

I just came up with a better way to mount the battery! this should work with either a hump pack or a stick pack. goes right next to the fuel tank. the battery will never fall out agian. just thought I would post some pics of it.

well guys..... i upgraded my RC10GT a little bit again..... i had bought a used OS .18 CVR on flea-bay a month or so ..... it arrived and looked good, but i just couldnt get it to run???

well, i tore it all down and rebuilt it, and it runs like a top!! Idles great, has real good throttle response, and the top end it very good! a couple of tanks (20%, Blue Thunder Sport), and i got it all tuned up. it screams, and can pull wheelies!! Its just what the truck needed, as the AE .15 that i was running, was a bit underpowered as all the mods added quite a bit of weight. And, BTW, the cost of the custom aluminum wheels and the full cage... well, lets just say, i could buy two whole used cars on e-bay for their price.! ;-)

heres some new pics of the beast, and my hang out ;-) enjoy!

Ginnz!

Here is one of my GT's, the only one that is not in parts. Its an old black tub that I stripped and polished. Tires are bald and it has an old ass OS cz in it right now. The TOP will be going back in once I get around to racing this summer.

you looking for a whole tranny, RTR? i know i have a used tranny case, as i changed mine to aluminum, and im sure i have the stock gears as well..... LMK exactly what you need.

And, while im here, ill post a couple pics of my newest "Mod"..... i just completed it 5 mins. ago! Last night, buddy and I went to the LHS to get supplies and i found this awesome looking head for .18 sized engines.i figured it would look sharp on the OS. 18 CVR. And it does! but it took a bit of modding to get it on! I had to cut the head off on the stock unit, and drill and tap out the "stock head button" to attach this one on.... i used arctic silver paste for heat transfer compound between the two..... it worked out well!

take a look! and let me know what you guys think!

Ginnz.

Ok guys, my Dad gave me an rc10gt that needed some work. Here is what I did. I got some Nitro cleaner and cleaned out where the glow plug goes and took the air filter off and cleaned in there. I turned the motor over a couple of times while doing this as it was gummed up. I then replaced the fuel lines and got a new glow plug for it. I can get it to start however if I take the glow plug ignitor off the engine cuts off. Also, if I leave the glow plug ignitor on then the car still stalls out after 30 seconds. I have tried messing with adjusting the idle and the fuel richness and I still have the same problem. Also when it starts it does not just idle if wants to go. I don't get any smoke out of the exhaust so not sure why. I also found that the manifold was loose and needed a new gasket. I fixed those two things and still can not get the motor to stay running. Please help me out.

Hey guys I haven't been on here in a long time, but looking to get my rc10gt back into action. Haven't touched it in a good 2 years or so. Been really busy with college and building my actual truck, Nissan Frontier, into a prerunner. Anyways I'll be heading back home for Thanksgiving vacation and was going to grab my rc10gt so I can bring it back and get it running again. That way when I take my truck out offroading I can pull out the rc car to bash around a little. Anyways I have a few questions and am looking forward to getting this thing running again and modding it a little.

So right now it is just a stock RC10GT plus rtr except for some dirt hawg tires and the robinson steel spur and pinion gear set. So I haven't ran this thing in a while but last time i pulled it out the shocks were all leaking, one tire foam coming out, the carb was all screwy and throttle lever on the carb bent somehow, couldn't get the engine to start, etc. So I want to resurrect it from the dead, but have a few questions. Been trying to read through some of this super long thread, but I just want some straight forward answers.

First off I was just going to drop in a brand new engine. I wanted to make sure that the OS .18 CV-RX(S) with 11J rotary carb will drop right in? Is this correct? No cutting on this or whatever. Also is there some kind of rebuild kit or upgraded transmission I can easily put in. I already have the steel spur and pinion gears?

Also, can I put in a new steering and throttle servo and still use that stock radio and receiver. Also what are the decent drop in replacement servos for steering and throttle that are reasonably priced and a little better than stock. Ive heard of a hi tec one and some futabas. What are they specifically.

So thanks for any help. I think with that new engine and two new servos I should hopefully be able to get it running again in decent condition. Then I can continue with the minor things again and hop ups. Thanks!

So I guess there is nobody on this thread anymore since these are discontinued now. Anyways for an update yesterday I just ordered a OS .18 CV-RX(S), new hitec HS-625MG for steering, rpm black tuned pipe, new clutch shoes, os clutch nut, new exhaust manifold, a few other little things. Should get me running again, but probably gonna end up buying a few more things.

The CV-RX(S) will drop in with no mods. You will need a better clutch as the stock one will slip with the .18 the best is the mip 4n1 clutch also pick up robinson idler and alloy diff gear for trans, parts can be found on ebay or tower hobby

Ah ok thanks man. Yah I think Im gonna probably have to get that new MIP clutch. Will I need a new flywheel with that. I have the one with only two pins on it. Other than that I think I just need to look into all the parts needed to strengthen and rebuild the transmission and diff.

Alright you guys, Im still collecting new parts still. Thinking about sc10 stock tire/wheel combo with a new silver body. Got the os .18 in the mail today and already have a bunch of other stuff. The only thing I havent addressed yet is the transmission. I never opened it before and I know it needs to be rebuilt. I was going to get the robinson racing idler and diff gear to put in there. What I need to know is besides those two parts can anyone come up with an actual list of everything I need to completely rebuild the transmission and diff??? It would really help me out kind of sucks that its all individual things to rebuild tranny. I just need to know everything for example, diff balls and those other smaller balls, how many and which ones? Also, all the bearings, grease, etc that I need. Thanks guys.

Sweet man, thanks. Yah I already have downloaded a bunch of those pdfs from the ae site and saved them to a folder. Pretty helpful and Im working on getting some more parts for it soon so I can wrench on it for a while. The drawings definitely help for a lot, it just sucks that there are so many little individual pieces to get to rebuild the tranny.

Nope I only work on real truck transmissions. Seems I can figure it out. So many little parts hahaha. I did rebuild the tranny in my brushless micro t a few times. But never touched my rc10gt. Trying to find a list of everything to rebuild it along with the robinson gears.

Alright you guys I've made a lot of progress on the car and Im almost ready to begin breaking it in soon. Got all the new parts installed and the new OS .18 CV-RX in. Right now Im only battling two issues I need some help with.

My first issue is that for some reason im screwing the idle set screw in on the carb all the way and it is barely opened. I havent started it yet, but it doesnt look like a big enough opening to keep it idling.

My second main issue is Im having trouble setting up the throttle brake linkage. I think its due to some odd angles and stuff from the new engine being bigger, taller, wider, etc than the old ae .15. I cant seem to get it set to have the right range of motion that opens and closes the carb all the way without bending the arm on the rotary carb. Trying to set it up just like stock and still haven't even gotten to the brake yet. Cant get it to work been rotation the servo horn on the servo itself with all trims set at 0 and everytime when I set the throttle atv all the way up it just doesnt have enough range of motion it seems like. Also it looks the air filter is going to get in the way.

Anyone have pics with a working OS .18 linkage setup. I bough a brand new stock rc10gt linkage kit I've been trying to work with and right now Im going off the stock servo horn mounted on the new servo. The servo horn is the one that looks like an X.

Thanks
