My Marder onroad
This car started its life like every other Marder, but when i bought it its life was about to changeI realised that i wanted an onroad, but it would be nice to go offroad/rally too! Therefore i cut it in half, made myself an extensionplate under it and screwed it on.I also bought some onroad wheels, and lowered the rear a bit.I am using std dampers at the rear, but with the shafts from a front damper, and 2,2x100 mm spring and 3000 oil.Front ones are standard too,but with 2,2x60 mm springs and 3000 oil.

I am running a Ford Focus body from MCD,pics to come soon.
Here is some pics of the exhaust,FG tunepipe with a longer stinger which exits where its supposed to,behind the car
I also made a skidplate at the front to prevent the bumper on the body to get scratched, and a handle/bumper at the rear

One day i was very bored i found out i had to make a new pullstarthandle! So i did.Made it out of 10 mm aluminiunsheet.I have put on front disc brakes aswell, they are operated via the 2nd channel on my Futaba 3PK,but they are on the 3rd so i can adjust the bias from my radio. The 3rd work as a slavechannel to the 2nd,so it brakes when the rear brake is operated

Wow look really awesome, you did a great job!
I plan on doing a little bit of an alteration like that to a car one day, great stuff.

Thanks Jeff!Go ahead,do it!Lots of fun[8D]
That would be nice Roger,i dont have anyone to drive with in this big scale, just those little nitros i have to pick out of the front of my LS car after each bashing
I made the frontbumper out of bread slicing board of plastic (),this plastic is very tough and soft, but not so soft that it get flimsy, shaped after the front bumper on the body.Made some holes in it to get some weight off,and painted it grey/black.You can see the rest of the slice board in pic nr 2 how it really looks!I used 2 of them

Here are some pics with the body on,the body is 380 mm wide, and measured on top of the rear wheels they are 382 mm wide.Close enough!I spent some days inside the body masking,it was not a joyful job,but i had to do it.I am very pleased by the result after all!
The decals was i bit struggly, had to use a hairdryer to get them into shape and "melt" them into place.First i had plans to make a singel coloured streetversion of the car,but as i had to buy all the decals (i hoped the light decals was to be sold separately, but no) i couldnt get myself not to use those lovely Martini decals,so i painted the body in two colours and put them on.I searched Google up and down after pictures of this car to get some ideas where to put the decals on the right places.
I have also put real grilles where it should have been decals, both to enhance cooling and looks. It looks cool, hehe

Yeah, that would have been cool! But not so cool if the gastank is leaking, becomes rather hot then
Here are some of the wheels i use,the wheels on the two last pics are from MCD,the 5spokes are from FG.I had in mind when i painted this body it should look just like the Focus Colin McRae,who sadly passed away a year ago, used when he drove for Ford.

RE: My Marder onroad
I saw McRae on the side of the car and did a quick search. I did not know that he had passed. I am talking about Collin.

Cool car didn't mean to get off the subject.

You should bolt a small piece of steel to the end of that piece that hangs down so you get some cool sparks when you bottom out.

Thansk guys!I had to do this with the wheels, hehe.I have alvays searched for these 5spoke rims to make it look just like the real one, finally i found them on www.rc-car-online.de and ordered two sets straight away[8D]Had to paint them as the were grey, and i made the stickers myself to both the rim sets. The other rims from MCD was already white,so i just put on the stickers.I am very happy with the result!

Thanks Roger!
I found a solution on the problem with the tank not getting vented, although it is built in in the tank cap(its not only mine that doesnt work!).I took a grease nipple and filed it so the spring inside came loose so the ball move freely. But i didnt remove the spring cause it have to sort of hold the ball in place. So when i tilt the car on its side it dont leak as the fuel "transports" the ball to the opening of the nipple, but when on four wheels it breethe freelyI put a hose on the nipple to lead away the fuel if it spills some

Time for a littlte update!I bought a 9000 mAh receiver pack from a member on a forum here in Norway, this is a bit bigger than the "normal" receiver packs that is usedHad to make a new mount for it,so i did.Used an aluminium profile we sell at work, the same as used on the control arms on my home made car.I had to modify the rod to the carb by bending it and put it on top of the bar on the rollcage, and put a longer screw on the servoarm to raise the mount there a bit, cause this pack is much higher than the normal packs.
