Hi guys, I’m new to these boards and decided to sign up as I noticed many of you have experiences with the great uravitch „big bronco“ with apprx. 81’’ wingspan. I already own a „small bronco“ (e-star models) that flys great and was going to build the „big one“ as my new winter project.

Now the matter begins: I got my plans from ebay and emailed the designer on his website for purchasing the plastic parts package. Some time later I tried hobby hangar directly. The result: Nothing.

I know many of you have made good experiences with hobby hangar so I am pretty much clueless why I do not get any response. Can somebody point me into the right direction? What did I do wrong? Are they out of business maybe?

Building the bronco without the vacuum formed canopy is surely no fun at all so I am a little frustrated now.

Any input would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Jens

(PS: I emailed them that I am in germany right now but I have friends located in florida so the transaction would be no problem even if they won’t ship international).

uhm, really?

It was a powerseller so I assume he did a legal print of the plans and has the copyright?

jensstern,

Try Scale-Aero. This is Ed Clayman's company and he carries the goods for Uravitch and other designers. Ed is a good guy and he will be able to assist you in whatever way he can. He's also very knowledgable on anything having to do with the full scale OV-10 Bronco. Drop him a line.

www.scaleaero.com/buyaero.htm

Click on "Giant Scale Plans" and you'll see the Uravitch Bronco. The plastic accessories are available with the purchase of the wood.

I think you're dealing with a shady character. I looked at the sellers other items on EBAY and the picture of the 52 inch bronco he has posted is actually a picture of my 81 inch bronco. Here are a couple pictures of my Bronco you can compare to what he has posted. Look at the number on the nose.

I sent the guy a message asking why he was using my plane in his add and he's now removed the picture from his add and replaced it with probably someone else's picture.

Appears this guy is a fraud and is being checked into by Rich Uravitch for selling plans he has no right to.

Jens:

Yes, as has been stated, we have everything for the 81.6" Uravitch OV-10.
That includes clear and opaque plastics (canopy, scale cockpit kit, cowls,
nose, rear door, wheels and retract system).

Wow, its amazing you found a discount seller of Rich's as well as Nick
Ziroli's designs. Where do I find the web seller? I need a B-25 planset.

Hi, I am really really sorry for my late response. I was busy with building the plane .

I am working around 3 weeks on the bronco and I cannot believe how far it is.

But first: I absolutely had no clue that there are obviously people around who are selling other guys plans without permission. I even didn't know where Mr. Uravitch was before I bought these plans. Afterwards I browsed the web and discovered this big US based enthusiast community. I was surprised how popular this plane is in the U.S.

I work as an R&D engineer myself and know how important it is to respect patents and copyrights. This can ruin a company!

The ebay seller was m_h_r if sb. wants to know.

FliteMetal/ Ed:
I filled out your order form online and got an email confirmation but didn’t get any response from you as well. Man, so much bad luck with the plastic parts. You possibly want to give it a check if there is a technical problem with your website as I want to order the scale cockpit for christmas.

I ended up buying the plastic parts bundle from a private RC universe member in belgium. Thank you so much for your service Frank. The guy had the parts stocked for almost 10 years at home. Delivery from belgium to germany was quick and hassle-free.

I will post a few pictures….

I have some more but please allow me some time for posting.

My bronco will be an electric powered plane. I am planning to use two outrunners with apprx. 450 watts each. Just from the beginning I set my focus on building light but with enough strength.

The fuselage is 2.5mm balsa with 1.5mm plywood and 3.0mm birch ply ribs. All edges have 10x10 balsa stringers to ensure nicely rounded edges. The booms have 2.5mm balsa (sides) and 2.0mm balsa (top/bottom).

Wing: Pictures to come soon. Ribs are made from 3.0mm balsa.

My opinion is the fuselage is still a big heavy but very very solid.

Comments welcome.

Jens

Jens:

You may have processed that during our recent hurricane. We were down without electricity for six days while a lot of hard working electric crews scurried to get over three million people out of the dark or end our use of generators and candles When some internet restaurants reopened I managed to try to manage incoming during the lunch hour...ended up spending almost three hours each day at the keyboard and ate lunch and dinner at Slotsky's Deli. Had my fill of turkey sandwiches until Thanksgiving in November. I just tested our online form for cockpits and its working fine. I suspect your order fell into a black hole. Sorry for the hassle.
