Hey guys. I bought a Trex heli last night(local) and the battery and charger are really puzzling me. Let me start off with this- the guy I bought it from got it brand new and never flew it. The 2 lithium battery packs were charged on his uncles charger once for demonstrations since the plug type of the charger that came with it(I have) is not the same plug. Basic point, the charger he got with it(I have) never charged any batteries yet.

I don't know what brand the batteries are or anything about them. The charger is li-ion but since the batteries are not labeled well, I don't even know if they're lipo or li-ion. Is there any way to tell them apart? That way I could see if the charger is even compatible. If it is, I have a spare Tamiya male connector I can solder on. The charger's got a light on the front and I don't assume it's a balancing charger, but isn't it at least safe to assume that it has an auto-cutoff in which case the light will change?

Anyone know anything about the battery? Lipo or li-ion?
Anyone know anything about the charger, and can I assume it has cutoff? Thanks.

your battery is a lipo, and that charger is going to be very slow.Is there a red jst plug on your battery also? You will also need to get a balancer.
