Your last point first. I have no "Honey-Do" list. I get rid of "Honey," and the list went with her.

But.

In process are eight kit twins, one kit single, and one lonely ARF.

My problem, since I'm retired, is not finding time to work on them, but rather deciding which one to work on.

Bill.

I have a friend that started bashing on the second kit and bulding from scratch on the next. He is also burning out. The problem is he has this perfect plane in mind, but isn't at the point in his modeling career that he can attain it and if he did, he couldn't fly it.

My advice is to build a kit start to finish, an easier to build but fun to fly kit, and have some fun.

I usually have 4 or 5 going at one time. Last winter I started 6 and finished all 6. It was cool. Get bored with one, go to the other. I left one sit quite a while back for several years because I ran into a problem with it. I went back to it, solved the problem, finished it in 3 nights and flew it. That is how close it was.

Sometimes you just have to walk away.

Don't try to take on too much too fast. It can mess you up. There is too much to learn to do it all at once.
