I'm drooling over the pump unit! [:-] Why can't someone tool up something like that for mass production and offer it at a semi-reasonable price? [&o]

Seamless makes for a lot of extra work. After I've built 17 of my Dreamin CS boats, the next model will definatly be a shoebox joint. Check out the Dreamin build thread currently going, perhaps might give you some insight. Nice hull and really nice drive unit. Good luck with your molds!

Hi yes it will make more work but i think the look of the boat being seamless is a lot better
i have been reading you ones the mould making and the building of a boat its all good info
ive done a bit of flass work befor on race cars making guards and bonnets etc
the top mould will have to be in 3 bits and bolted together to get it round the rear spoiler

mart i could still do a all jell coat boat but it will need pin stripe on the join but im only going to make white boats so then every one can paint them any colour they want or i can have it painted for them

ive got 3 guys that want one so far and havent advertised them yet

All gel coat and glassed in side does it have a line yes but not too noticeable just like a real boat you would put rub rail over this or it would be capped then gel shot on and feathered in or a paint line added with graphics.[img][/img]

In real boats your sprint jet would be all alum with a 2 or 3 stage Hamliton pump. You seen the vids of them jumping beaver dams?

Can you take the pump apart for us to see the inside stators ect.

Jake

hi yes if done right the joins are hard to see i dont think my skill is that good at this stage but colour gellcoats cost more at the end of the day so im just going to stock to white

will take some photos of the unit next time i take it apart as it still needs a bush making in the tail housing

Sounds good mate as regards been able to see the join err yes you can see it and yes it will need painting or it wont be seamless .Pinstripe with vinyl also works just depends what they want i guess,as jake says most real boats have a rub rail anyway so a red or black pinstripe would look good. One thing as far as gelcoat goes is it fades (colour) and also you can get hairline cracks apearing over time so most boats end up been painted anyway.White is a good safe colour as they can then as you say add paint or graphics etc themselves.Im looking forward to seeing what you come up with keep the pics coming, any problems you know where i am mate.

I saw the listing for that on trade me some time ago
looking forward to see how it all goes.
i also had touble finding jet boat hulls when building mine. I am half way through the plug for a 1/4 scale jet sprint with plan to sell them but as some one else is closer there isnt going to be much point to finish it. demand isnt too high to have two manufactures of them.
hers a couple of pics of mine
