well its just my opinion that the omp kits are a bit over prices as they do not come with anything but a set of plans no instructions like a cd that is included, got the yak 65' and the cd is for a electric yak, what good does that do me,every other kit i built all the wood was labeled as to size and legnth not this kit so i have no idea as to what is what in the kit as far as wood, thinking on returning it and going with another company, now if the arf was in stock i would have purchaced it.to build the fuse plans say 1/4x3/4 all i have is 1/4x3/8 so any help would be appreciated

Wow... I built a few OMP kits and honestly thought they went together GREAT..

sure you have to cut some wood, but that is normal...

sorry you are not happy with it...

That sounds funny to me, because I have bought 6 different kits from them, and they all have cd's and very complete plans. The manuals are online also. As far as the wood goes, if you don't know how to cut a piece of wood to fit where the plans show it to go and need drawings for every piece, then maybe you are buying kits that are over your head.

Haven't looked at that specific model, but I can only assume that it means... make the pieces of wood the length needed to fit the plans... and stagger the splices so they are not in the same place...
the splices are cut at angles to glue the 2 pieces ow wood together...

Again, not sure for that specific kit....

bad drawing, but something like this.....

"All kits now include our OMP exclusive CD manual complete with color construction photos you can zoom into. The CD also includes numerous other action, video clips, and much more. Folks, this IS the new standard in quality kits!"

Thats from there site. You prolly just got the wrong cd by mistake. I bet if you give them a call they will send you the correct one

I've built over 20 of OMP kits and they have all been very easy to built and the wood quailty is very good. As far as price, I scratch built a second Yak55 along side my kit Yak and I spent more on that than the kit cost me. If you got the wrong CD I'm sure they will get you another ASAP. I have an extra if you need it. Jim

Sorry for the delays, recovering from the Nashville Pro Bro event. Man was that fun. Didn't tear anything up either.....just lost two tailwheels in the tall grass. haha

Anyway yes you simply got the wrong CD in the kit. I think John got the stack of Yak Stiffy manuals mixed up with the 65" Yak manuals. We're human. If this is the same Rob I spoke to over the phone then I think we are all ok and I'm sending you the missing wood you requested.
