i used polyester resin and, although it cured, it did get coloured, suggesting it would melt it somewhat

someone made a mold of the hull once, you could do something like that

keep us posted :b)

when you cut it open, save the top part that you cut out
you can get several resins, just get one that isnt polyester based ;b)

6 weeks since I ordered the original motor, still waiting on a new order for another motor, that I made two weeks ago with Hobbyking...
Hurry the f... up Creeks are flowing, sun is shining and my 4WD is ready to find remote spots... I'm keen to get the boat wet, not just sitting on the stand

@seehuusen - Yeah i have kept that cutout so i will try it on there also have a look at this site

http://www.rcnz.com/Shop/Service/Detail/Product/2466/RTR_Complete/NQD___R_C_Tear_Into_Sprint_Boat___RTR.html

I took the boat out on a full battery onto the lake i live on and was quite good but only like 3-4mins of hard out action and then battery died very fast after that !

So hear is my plan.

1 -  Gut the standard electronics !
2 -  brass bushing or bearing mod and water inlet mod.
3 - Figure out engine mounting f/glass or carbonfibre  option maybe a smaller engine than what i have.
4 - bulid the servo brackets (carbonfibre) L shaped
5 - Fuel tank placement and run lines.
6 - Exhaust placement (maybe run one eitherside with water outlet plumbed in)
7 -  Build grate and skid plate.
8 - I think im going to have to get rid of the drivers panel and add maybe a carbonfibre plate or clear lid as i
think the head of the engine is going too stick out of the lid just a little.
9  - Test fire the engine and check all is good before final paint and finsh.
10 - Paint job.

Then to the lake for the mayden run !!

The progress on my second boat has been going slow, but the paint is finally done. Although she may rarely run it, this one was intended for the gf. Fluorescent green and fluorescent pink with 3-4 coats of clear, helmets are pink as well. It doesn’t have any guts in it yet, and the pics don’t do the colors any justice at all, this thing practically glows, but thought id share the progress.

Hey mate,

it usually pulls off, you might want to get one of those little plastic pliers that you use with electronic (looks like a mini crowbar)

Cheers
Martin

Anyone know the size of the set screws for the stock coupler?  The impeller side of mine is stripped from the factory and I had to back drill it to get it out.

Also the impeller is scraping the sidewall of the housing.  Just sand the housing down(carefully) with the dremel for clearance?

The stock rx antena was glued into the seam of the 2 hull halves, so I will be sealing that up with something after I cut the pieces out.

if u have the alum cupler im not sure on the set screw but u could go to the next size . has far as the impeller rubbing i would check and see if the cupler side bushing is wore out couseing slop in the drive line . if you take to much out in the impeller houseing it will couse the pump to lose suckon and slip.

i wouldnt mind so much if there was a way to even get a hold of them. but they NEVER answer the phone, the "support network" they have, i see people complaining of waiting over a month to even get ANY response to an inquiry and when they did it was brief and basically saying tough luck. doesnt seem like the way to run a business to me. will keep informed but looks like im going to my credit card company and filing a claim against HK if they dont get it together.
