The batteries in that ebay add will not put out any amount of amps worth talking about. If you put them in a hot set up, they will let the magic smoke out.

So I'm better off stepping up to lipos and getting an inexpensive charger. I saw these somewhere on this thread:

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbycity/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=7028&Product_Name=Turnigy_Accucel-6_50W_5A_Balancer/Charger

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbycity/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=8932

Would that equipment be up to the task? I have this exact motor and esc in my boat:

What are these Ebay boats like Stock ??

I have a few friends that are after some cheap boats with jet drives as the water we have around here has sunken objects..
I can't seem to find any Vids on the net of a Stock one as they all seem to be modded...

If u want a jet drive because of sunken abjects or shallow water the reef racer is an imboard subsurface drive. Get something like the mini rio. It has a surface drive wich is not far under the water and the rudders have that breKaway feature or something. Plus its the same size as the tear into. Hope this helps. ohh plus the mini rio is faster. But not as agile and manuverable. The reef racer can turn rele sharp without spinning out. Its like itz on a trAck lol

We're starting to get off topic here, but have you thought about an air boat? A flat bottom air boat can go over any submerged object. Mine will go over anything.

So jet sprint racer your boat is probably in end up looking something like this. A moderate sized boat with a more than moderate sized jet sticking out of the back of it :-). So I was wondering what are you going to put into yours for a power plant. I was planning on when the funds came in to put a super V 27 system and it. Please relay your thoughts. :-).

Sincerely,
Benjamin

the "TEAR INTO" is it a proper jet unit or more of a ducted prop because I have seen some another that would make an interesting conversion??

Called the Lightning (Still NQD)

I believe you can get away with running a 3s (11.1v) lipo or even a 12v battery for more speed, and the stock radio and motor will take the punishment for quite a while. You can use 3mm or larger mesh or screen and it'll be fine. Ask the local Walmart car mechanic to save you a discarded air filter that has a perforated metal cover.

This boat was modded by Dragonfire a while back and it porpoised badly. You will need trim tabs or a ride plate to tame the hull down due to the design.

i ran my tear into with the stock motor but changed everything over . i used a streak esc that was rated for 12v and used a 3s lipo. the motor only lasted throw half the pack . with a pretty good increase in speed . but nothing like a brushless setup . with can be had pretty cheap throw hobbycity.com .

the white or yellow lighting isnt worth the money . has a jet boat . im thanking of makeing that hull in to a supsearface drive .

here are some vid of that boat stock and moded .

stock everything http://www.youtube.com/user/dragonfire81m#p/u/8/S16V0SZdrtg

stock with 3s lipo http://www.youtube.com/user/dragonfire81m#p/u/7/7miooKDTybM

moded 3s lipo and 28-2700kv http://www.youtube.com/user/dragonfire81m#p/u/5/a-MmplBQ_zY

Ryan,
Why do you feel the Tear into is better?
I like the looks of the Lightning boat better. I also like the extra 4"s, Looks like it may have more access area

The tear into is definitly better. You can mod it to where it will ride well and not lose it's prime all the time in rapiids. The lightening or crackerbox one will barely run on smooth water without loosing it's prime all the time let alone any amount of wake or waves. Dragon fire & I have both tried it but it just doesn't work well with the flatness of the hull. I tried putting a abc hobby 22mm jet drive in mine and it still isn't right. It stopped most of the porpoising, but the priming issue is almost maddening. I've tried scoops and several other things, but I just think that the hull is not suited for the drive. I haven't quite given up on mine yet, but it's close to becoming an airboat. I think it would slide great in the turns with the flat bottom.

Cool, I'm glad you guys told me about it. Other wise I might have made the mistake of buying it.

One thing is very true. The Tear Into does look more like a real river jet boat.
