I'd like a 3rd candidate.

One who would make MA, the flagship publication of the AMA, less of a "this is what we used to fly back in the day" kind of magazine, and more of a "look at what MOST people are flying now" type of read.
I'm sick of FF,CL and rubber-powered stuff taking most of the pages. Sure, the old-timers love it, but I would really like to know the membership demographics- I would guess there are a lot more younger, "hipper" members who get MA every month only to relegate it to the bottom of the bathroom reading material stack in favor of more current reading material.

I could care less about the PPP crap that everyone bickers about. I'll fly side by side with someone flying electric foamies with my glow and fas planes, no problem. All this pseudo-political drama is stupid- did all you complainers forget that we are all still flying toy airplanes, no matter what they are?

I'm not going to vote for Horace just because of his arrogant insistence that in order to be granted a reply to your question to him, you have to offer up your AMA number. I just find that patently offensive. But, Horace is the only one who remotely acknowledge that the AMA needs to recognize those of us who fly less traditional aircraft and styles.

I'm voting for Greg Poppel. Why? Because I can.

After reading your comments about the categories of flight you have no interest in, I'd like to see how "hip" you really think you are with the handle of a 130 mph combat plane in your hand.

Recent excerpt from Hoss’s candidate forum:

My personal feeling is that any individual who only wishes to perform model aviation within the established limitations of the Park Pilot Program also sets him/herself apart from the real world of aeromodeling. Since that individual has selected that small portion of the whole, I believe that individual to be far too specialized to comprehend the wide spread of the entire spectrum of aeromodeling. Thus the broad knowledge required to represent all those aeromodelers that do participate across that spectrum is something the PPP individual cannot vision. Therefore the said individual should not be considered as qualified to select AMA leaders, as regular Open members are not qualified to vote on Bylaws, and as a 16 year old is not qualified to vote in a political election.
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

Here is a perfect example to gain insight to Hoss’s thought processes. How in the he11 do you equate knowledge or comprehension with the amount of money you pay for your membership? It doesn’t take any specific intelligence to be an AMA open member, leader member, or AVP or for that matter any other position within AMA. Blind allegiance is a much better asset. This is the kind of crap that gets my hackles up. The purchasing an AMA membership, no matter the tier, has nothing to do with intelligence…nothing. How absolutely absurd to take such a goofy position. Dang

BTW Kid, time to quit expounding about all this AMA stuff…you haven’t purchased enough comprehension…LOL

Oh, just one more observation Kid. You haven't posed any questions for Hoss in his forum but you have for Mark in his....there is a reason.

If you want a publication that is dedicated to what most are flying today, then subscribe to Model Airplane News, or Fly R.C. . Not a building article to be found, nor anything on FF or CL. Leave we old farts with some building.

The part I dont get is Bob, who hounded Hoss over a bunch of threads on the Organization subject, just accepted this non-anwser with complete understanding. Dang, Hoss should have just given Bob a 20 word answer and look like a saint too

Mark's answer was very responsive, KE.

I didn't ask him how HE would reorganize AMA, because he isn't saying he's going to promote such in his candidate satements. I aked him what he though of Horrace's plan.

Which, of course, Horrace hasn't really described.

Now, if Mark said he was going to promote such a reorganization, then you are correct that his answer wasn't very good. But, he's not, and that's not what I asked.

Have you read what he has to say about park flyers? "Joe Parkee Flyer" and "not real aeromodelers" are but 2 of several.

Ronnie,

That should not stop her from casting her vote. She sounds as if she has about the same amount of experience as some of the others who post here (a lot).

Now on to a real ball buster. Hoss is touted as being a "watchdog" but openly admits being party to doling out 10g of AMA funds without any accountability to the members...then or now...yea a mute watchdog is of some real use.
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
From the HC candidate forum:

2. Do you know specifically how this money was used?
No.
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
Yep…. some more of that is what we need…

That 10 grand resulted in you getting 50 new channels to use vice the original 7 shared use however it may have been disposed of.

What are you getting for a potential $150,000.00 direct expense (15 times more $$$) in the PPP/mag which does not include the cost of staff personel doing the work. AMA staff are not "club members." Their services cost real money.
The above figures are from MarK's answer to you in his candidate sub-forum.

I am NOT now a member of the AMA EC. I can say what I want to say
