What gearing are you guys using in your brushless slashes? I just bought a 3S lipo, and put it in my brushless slash with 26/83 gearing, and it's a freaking monster. I need to make a front spoiler to try to help it keep the front end down. I've also tried 23/83 and 21/83. I checked my motor temp with the 26/83 (street use only) and the max temp was 150. If I take it off road, I'll be running no taller than 21/83, probably 18/83.

I run 15/86 in my novak powerd slash running 7 cell 5000 mah venoms. The temp after two packs is only 118 to 125. thats about a little over an hour run time.

Mike.

19/83 with a VXL system. run in a mix of dirt, short grass, concrete. If i was doing all offroad I'd go down to 18/83 or 18/87. If you're running a different motor your gearing might be different. The MM motors need smaller pinions to keep cool.

Hordsak - I run 32 pitch gears at 58/13 which is pretty close to 19/83 in 48 pitch. Thats with a VXL system and my max temp is around 150F running on different terrian.

piccorevo.26 - You're gonna have a hard time keeping a MM7700 cool in a Slash. It's designed for touring cars and light buggies not a 4+ lb truck. If it where me I'd sell the 7700 and buy a Velinion motor to run on the Mamba ESC. If you a set on running the Castle Creations motors you need to drop down to a 4600 or 5700 max. The 7700 is also not designed to be run on 3S as you could exceed the maximum RPM of the motor. I have run them on 3S in a touring car but it was only for a couple of short speed runs. If you're going to try it then start with 12/90 and work your way up from there. I remember all the problems I had keeping a 5700 cool in a rustler.
