OK, here is the deal, i have a traxxas rustler vx-l, i have some crappy venom 7.2v 4200mah batteries, good enough for my first time with rc cars, i figured i would get some better batteries for my birthday a few months down the road..well that time is almost here. Problem is i dont know what batteries to get.

Here is what i was leaning towards

link

YEs tenergy propel's, 8.4v 4500mah, i have heard mixed reviews on tenergy's but with the propels i have seen more good than bad. I dont' know much about the batteries and i don't want to be screwed over with the batteries i buy. so i am hoping someone out there with a bit more knowledge can help me...here is what i am looking for in a battery

nimh (lipo down the road maybe but for now too expensive)

max $100

max cells=7 (my charger doesn't support any more than that and i don't feel like buying a new one...yet)
8.4v for a nimh

i want them to be durable, last a good amount of runs and have good run times

also this battery, it is supposedly rebuilt and better than the standard propel, is this true or just a scam? would it actually be much better than the stock propel pack?
linkage

anyway thanks for any help you can give

You should get good run times on 4500 as well i get 20mins on 4200mah and about 25-30 on 4600mah doing speed runs

I wouls stay away from Tenegy as you are using a high amp brushless system. I would look at the Energ 4600 from smc and there are a couple other places but dont buy from boomboombatteries.com

I have the cells you are looking at and have had no problems at all. I will admit I have not had anything better either so I do not know what I am missing. I assembled my own packs so I do not have any of the thin aluminum 'battery bars' that are spot welded on, I think that helps. If I were buying nimh again I would look at these cells: http://www.integy.com/cgi-bin/webc.cgi/st_prod.html?p_prodid=4542&p_catid= I have not used them but heard good things about them and at that price its hard not to give them a try. But honestly the next time I buy cells it will be lipo, the price just keeps coming down, you can get a decent lipo batt for cheap

I seen those gp4300's before. Cant believe they are only $30 unassembled. I wonder how they compare to the Orion 5300 SHO cells. They are $85 for 6 LOOSE cells!!!!
