Hey everyone..

Joining this one late. Here's my 110... it's all electric (2 42-60s) 2x 90am Common Sense ESCs and 2 x 16x10 props. Not counter rotating and i've had no problems at all.

She slows to a crawl with half flaps and tracks really well.

I run an 8s 5000mah setup and of course Sierra Precision Retracts (never had a problem with them).

Very nice flying and plane. I'm also impressed of your airfield.

Here is the #3 flight of mine.

I lost mine two weeks ago

Had an ESC smoke on final and was too low and slow to recover.

Anyone need some Sierra retracts cheap!

Jeff

I'm really sorry to hear that John. I was looking forward to maybe seeing some video with this setup.
Would you say it had scale power?
Did you get any pics of your battery install?

Thanks, Walter

Maybe the builder/owner of this 110 will reply. I thought he/she did an excellent job on this bird. Good color scheme too. Yellow engine cowls easier to see at far end of field.
With nitro prices rising and not knowing the single engine flight statis of the new KMP BF110 yet,,, gas or electric would be the way to go. (At least till someone flys one right engine out.)

Thank you Andrew !!!!!!!

(Andrew,,,, is there a Fiesler Storch ARF on the backburner of your mind ? If so put me down for one of those too.) Death by Wife~~~~

hello!....this bf-110 was built from Don Smith plans 118''....powered by two laser 180 engines..the owner is Dave Voglund...

I'm up to my elbows in one of these as well. Very happy overall with the quality of the build (especially compared to my 190 from the same company). Installing xyz 20cc engines (hoping these end up being reliable). Working in the nacelles is a bit difficult, I could really stand having smaller hands, lol.

I'm starting to setup the gear doors and was wondering if anyone has any good ideas on how to activate them? I see LADO now has gear door actuators, but I can't see spending $60 a pop for these.

Gear door sequencer from Tower @ $38. You could have this installed in the wing and run both sets of door servos off one unit

They make a gear door kit for the BF100. I believe Troy Built has it. It has springs that close the doors, and inner door liners. It also has a steal bar with curved ends that push the doors open when you extend them.

I hear the gear door kit is really nice. I really need to finish my gear doors.. my kit came with the gear door covers, they just need a ton of work to make them look right.

Some more pics.. next to my CMP 109 (modified landing gear with Sierra Retracts for the ESM version and of course a new paint job.. .. I just love how these two look together)...

Try here:
http://www.bigplanes.nl/contents/en-uk/d140.html

Or make your own system as I did.\

The fullscale Bf110 had a very simpel hook up for the gear doors.

Looking at your pics, it looks like you split your flaps at the outboard edge of the nacelle panel. I was planning on doing this as well to make the outer panels removable. I planned on a dowel or plate to connect them when back together. What did you use?

Maidened mine yesterday. Very easy plane to fly and it took off in about 100ft. CG is 137mm. Two turnigy g60's(eflite power 60 equivalent) with 16x10 3blade MAS props.
Im running two 6s 6000mah batteries in parallel with each motor having a turnigy 85amp esc.

No problems with crossewind take offs either. This surprised me a little. Wind was ESE at about 8mph(runway is north-south). Almost no rudder was required to keep it straight and I dont even have counter-rotating props. Same for landing....she floats rather well for such a big plane. I didnt weigh it, but its probably about 23-24pounds...much lighter then a friends ESM B-25 that was at the field yesterday and we know that one weighs 28.

I painted over the wasp decal as I didnt like it at all. I still have to affix the underwing radiators and the wheel well covers, but wanted to make sure it flew before adding more detail.

..............RCU again having issues with pic uploads...........

Finally...got them to load. 3rd pic...Im putting the batteries in the nose. There are bomb racks on the outboard wing sections, but for the maiden, did not attach the bombs themselves.

Congratulations Kahloq

A wonderful airplane isn't it? Have planned to make another scheme on mine too. Have thinking about a nightfighter or someone from the far north in Norway during the war.

Have flown 16 sorties with my 110 now

The two guns on the nose of mine that are visible are used as air inlets for the batteries. I still need to add the other two for a total of four. Additonally, the cannon recesses on the bottom of the nose are used for same.

I need to get some weathering done to it to help it look better as well. I have to say, it was probably one of the most uneventful maidens Ive ever had.

Very nice. Flies quite well even near 30 pounds. My electric version is a tad lighter at about 25 pounds. Those two 26cc gas motors sounded really good together.
