Just finished and test flew my Twin Cub. I had two half built GP 40 size J-3 kits laying around and had seen the info on the real Wagner Twin Cub from the 50's. Actually a fairly easy project, just extended the center section about 20 inches and modified the tail. I used two new ST 40's that I had on hand, which turned out to be way overpowered - two 25's would have probably been enough. I am going to be putting two OS 40 four strokes on it next week which will work and sound much better. The plane looks good in the air and handles very good, like a Cub.

Uhhh, not exactly!

The Beechcraft model 50 Twin Bonanza was a large six place twin that only used a few single-engine Bonanza components in the fuselage - it didn't have the V-tail, for example. It certainly wasn't two Bonanzas side by side, like the twin Cub or F-82 Twin Mustang.

The Super V, however was a remanufactured single engine Model 35 Bonanza into a conventional light twin by Bay Aviation, retaining the V-tail. I'd post pictures of both but my cut and paste isn't working. Google them and you'll see what I'm talking about.

What a cool model the Super V would make! Russ Farris

Don't forget to attach the fuselages at the bottom.

Airbusdrvr (Ron) is a memeber of my club and saw the Twin Cub fly at our clubs Cub fly-in last week. He owns a real J-3 (see pic in his profile).

He is probably right about joing the two fuse at the bottom. Right now all the stress is on the wing and after about 10 flights is already developing stress cracks. Of course doing snap rolls probably didn't help -

What a great model and something a bit different. I love it. Do my eyes deceive me or does one prop overlap the other on the full size? I noticed that that both fuselages appear to be joined by the u/c on the full size and perhaps this might be a good move to carry out on a model. I would love to see a video. Look after it Ron...not too many snap rolls..Please.
All the best,
Chris.

On twins like this it is very comon for the props to overlap. Pn the p 82 the props overlap about 16". I made a twin some time back like the cub but it was a low wing. I had 2 US 35cc engeings on it. The props overlaped about 1 1/2" It takes out a lot of the prop sweral that you can get with twins. but it is very unsafe to start them.
