Its about time. Way too much so and so is a good guy, and such and such is a good guy! With nothing happening for YEARS. Now lets see if this happens, I will believe it when I see it. Too many stories, and no action. Date of Post #1 10/4/2008. Dont bother flaming me, just waiting too see if this happens.

Don's plans are very complete. If I wasn't so darn lazy I'd just cut the kit myself. This is just the incentive I need to build one. I've emailed Lazer-works to let me know when the short kits will be available. Remember these are short kits not an ARF. Short kits that Lazer-works used to sell. I see no reason if Don says they will be available for them not to be.
John.

I am finishing up a short kit now, I hope the balsa selection is a bit better. Lazer works did a nice job on the kit, my only real complaint was that the balsa selection was a little soft for the rear V&H stabs, and the ribs were a little soft. The material for this plane needs to be harder to take the stresses IMO. Other than that, the short kit was fine.........it even included the pre-cut "Flying Machine" iron-on logo.

Has anyone thought of or tried to get a foam core wing cut at Eureka Aircraft?

I almost cut one myself, using the ribs to set up a template. The original kit came with a foam wing, instead of the built-up wing as shown in the plans. I personally like the foam wing better, but the built up wing seems stiff. I used Spruce spars and CF strips along with some fairly firm sheeting, so it should be fine. I would certainly like a foam wing option though!

I had a Scat Cat for a while with a foam core wing and it seemed indestructible. I too thought about cutting my own foam core wings but it may be more difficult than it seems.

Update from Lazer-works.

"Hello John,

Thank you for your interest in our service!
Apparently Don has made a few additions to the drawings of the Flying Machine. As soon as we get the updates put into the file we will have it ready to go.
As soon as we have that all worked up we will email you back with what the total actually comes out to, plus shipping.

The Flying Machine .40 size plans and instructions can be purchased via my web site www.eagle-i.us/fm for $24.00 including shipping.   The plans are shipped rolled via the USPS. If you want the .60 size plans please email me and I will send you a PayPal invoice to purchase them.  I will also contact Lazer-Works about cutting a short kit for the .60 size version.  Note:  The Flying Machine aircraft is my sole design as I own all rights.  Any reproduction in kit form, drawings, ARF, complete build or etc. is not allowed without my consent.  When you purchase my plans you have the right to build as many as you want for your personal use only.  I will not provide a digital file of my drawings, so please don't ask.

I agree, I have both and plan to put a small gasser or electric on the .60 size

then again I have an O/S .75 2 stroke just sitting there, with a nice pipe

too many planes, not enough time!

I guess it's a good problem to have :-)

Very Cool. It would be great if you authorized a .60 size short kit to be make though Lazer works, we really appreciate that.

Thanks for supporting your fan base :-)

The 60 size plans will be ordered from Don in the morning. Don has said he will ask Lazer-works to cut the 60 size as well.

Don is shipping the 60 size plans tomorrow. The 40 size plans are some of the best I've ever seen. The instructions look like something from a Great Planes or Sig kit. I haven't heard anything from Lazer-Works but I expect to shortly.
