Status: offline 		Sorry I haven't had the time to do a proper rundown. Today it's raining and I have a critical plumbing project at my daughters house to deal with. I have managed to get a few tanks of Sig 5% nitro 20% Castor run through it and the resuslts have been "Promising"

Status: offline 		Yep. Bolts up the same as the .46 !!! But it is probably going to make for a very um ,,,,,,,,,,interesting combo. (the thoughts of the last airshow I went to and watched an F-15 fly straight up till it vanished keep going through my mind ) Man it's gotta be fun.

Status: offline 		OK , I got some time to make a few test runs on the new .53 . I used a Merlin Red plug, an APC 13X4 prop, and Magnum 15%nitro fuel(because that is all I had). Are You Ready!!
Gave me 11,600 in 80 deg heat and 54%humidity with 30.2 on the barometer.
According to my latest and greatest Prop Power Calculator that is good for 8.36 lbs of prop thrust.
Quite the "air mover" for a .46 size engine. The case size is the same as the .46 and will bolt in where an OS .40 SF unbolted according to Probrojoe.

Almost forgot,, Idles at 2100 steady without touching a single setting from the factory idle.

I just placed an order for this engine along with a 4*40, and am very anxious to get it in hand and do the break-in. If you get time, I would love to hear what other combos you run on it. Also, have you tried any other plugs? What heat range is the red plug?

Status: offline 		I havent had much time to do testing lately. Sorry. The Merlin Red plug is their hot plug like the OS A3. It runs fine on the A3 plug too.

Status: offline 		Update. I tried some Omega 10% and a Master Airscrew 10X6 today for a friend of mine. I got 15,200 rpm. I consider this a really small prop for this engine (Alvins engines are generally good stump pullers) but it seems to run fine on it. I didn't try any idle testing but if you can get it down around 2200 it will be making less than a quarter pound of thrust.
