My transmission gear is not budging after a tank of Idling. There are no obstructions. I am using a pull start, and it is impossible to pull. It is jammed. Does anyone know whats going on?

Its not the transmission, your motor is just flooded most likely. Take out the glow plug and turn the truck upside down. Then just give it a few pulls. That will clear the fuel out.

Thats causing the pull start thing to be completely jammed? I'll try it.

EDIT: Nope, even with the car turned up side down and the plug removed, that handle won't budge.

Yea, when the motor gets flooded, it locks up everything in the motor. Which is why you cant turn over the motor anymore.

Did any fuel leak out when you turned it upside down?

Try loosening the bolts that hold the backplate on. If that doesn't work then you gotta take off the pull start and see whats up.

No fuel leaked when it was up side down. If loosening the backplate doesn't work what do you recommend?

Also, will it be unflooded in the morning if I let it sit overnight?

Usually when unclogging a flood, some fuel will spit out of the head (with the plug out), and that indicates that you have cleared the flood... BUT since you say that NO fuel came out, maybe its not flooded....?

Try taking the backplate off, and checking the coil for the Pull Start, and make sure nothing is binding it...

it could be the one way bearing in the pull start went bad and is locking up on you

can you turn the flywheel by hand?

it could be the one way bearing or it got to hot while letting it idle and locked up the engine

No, I cannot turn the flywheel by hand. If the one way bearing did get too hot, what do you recommend? I let it sit for a night and I'm gonna go back to try it in a couple of minutes.

EDIT: It didn't work. After a night of sitting its still jammed up. This is a brand new engine that was working fine. I just ran a tank through it at idle to break it in, and all of a sudden it did this. What could be causing this?

Well, like the others have mentioned; its probably because u have either flooded the engine somehow, in turn causing the starter handle to lock up like that; OR, something is probably messed up with the springs inside the pull start....

Is this a new engine you are trying to break in? Possibly it stuck at top dead center in the pinch area. Try warming the cylinder with a hair dryer and see if it will turn.

+1 Just heat the motor for a few minutes and that should loosen it up a bit.

ya try heating it up and see if that works sometimes the pinch is really tight on new motors useually the big blocks are the ones you have to do this with

if that doesnt work your going to have to start pulling it apart start with the pull start take it off and the one way bearing and then see if you can turn the flywheel buy hand if it still doesnt turn then the motor has to be locked up

if thats the case if you havent had it to long traxxas might replace it for free, or you can do there engine replacement plan and for like $90 you can get a 2.5R or a 3.3 for like $120

Let me add that theres some gooey oily stuff dripping out of the exhaust.

Let me also add that the engine was quite warm when it got stuck. It idled through a full tank of gas, but when I gassed it up and truied to start it the pull start wouldn't budge.

I think the transmission gears are in fact jammed. I may have put it together wrong when constructing my engine.
