I just blew my third spur gear out lol even on drift tires... Yea im running the aluminum motor mount from hot racing. what should i do?? Anyone else having problems blowing out their spur gear? Help would be nice thanks.

Sounds like u are having a few problems there, when u used the alloy spur did u replace the pinion with the different pitch?
Don't tell me u used the pinion from the alloy gear with the hpi spur?

How did u set gear mesh and are u sure the mount didn't move casing the gear to strip?

If u can upload a good pic of the worn gear should be able to check for ya

Status: offline 		I adjusted the gear mesh with a piece of paper like everyone said to do but it still stripped on me i think those pictures worked thanks for the help.

Status: offline 		I was going to wright a big thing about setting gear mesh on the E-10 but thank god for utube, I found this... this is the way i set my gear mesh & i havent stripped any gears, even with a 3900kv motor on 11.1v and rubber tyres.



allso see the way he checks it after tightning to make sure it has a tiny bit of backlash, thats another method i use for all my cars, I skip the first step & go straight to that, dont worry about the paper way I never had much luck with that with some other cars

Just rember the ider is to get the mesh as tight as possible while maintaning a slight backlash the hole way around the spur

Status: offline 		hey i am new to the whole rc world wanted one for ever and work just started carrying them so i picked up a Scion TC e10.  i want to pump this thin up some with out spending a whole lot already ordered my new bearings, drive shaft, and axels. ordering new steering next.  mine has the Sc-15wp esc i saw the sprinter has the same esc but running  the  HPI Racing Firebolt 15T 540 Motor will this also work in the e10? want to upgrade the motor but don't want to have to change a whole lot tx for any info.

Status: offline 		hey cool u can run Lipo batteries safely with that ESC...

Yep that motor is ok to use..... just on the limit, u cant run anything under 15t....

IMO stick with the stock motor, & upgrade to lipo's there will be a noticable preformance increase there...
then look into a $80 ezrun 35a combo

Status: offline 		Well if you have a brushless motor i suggest you do the aluminum driveshaft because the stock plastic one will bend at high rpms. But i still cant get my gear mesh right to the point where it doesnt burn out my spur gear.

1 faster steering servo & alloy steering kit
2 Brushless setup with alloy main shaft
3 oil filled shocks, swaybars
4 custom chassis brace
5 Universial drive shafts & rear spool

rx7devil210 are 100% sure that the mount is not moving???, did u try setting it like in the video?

Status: offline 		no my car is pretty much stock hpi e10 rtr. the only thing i put on it so far is rear and front camber setup, and strut tower bar set. what is a good brushless setup? do you have any preferred brands?

Status: offline 		I have a fuze 5800 kv with esc combo in mine but i would go with a brushless flux made by hpi that will be enough power.

Status: offline 		One of the best and cheapest is the 35a Ezrun combos.... wouldent go any lower than the 4300kv combo... They work a treat.

U would need a new cheap charger Imax B6 are great bang for buck click
And a cheap Lipo 2s 7.4v click


Steering setup... better than mine Yeah racing click

Status: offline 		thanks for all of the help! i have been looking at the yeah racing steering setup for a few days. i guess i will go ahead and pick it up. what do you think of the sf-50 servo? would it fit in my car without to much mods. thought it would be much better the the stock sf-1 that comes in e10. do you race yours or just drive for fun?

For the price of the HPI servo u could get 3 Blue bird ones & they are heaps faster

Status: offline 		I recently visited my local raceway and decided to try and enter the upcoming novice series with my e10 just to see if I like it and will want to buy a more race appropriate car further on. Everyone uses the same motor (tamiya Johnson) so that aspect of the upgrade is out of the question for the e10. I was just wondering what other upgrades might be wise to purchase. I have money for a lot of upgrades BUT being as its the novice class and just to see if I actually enjoy racing I'd like to spend as little money as possible. So far I have replaced everything with bearings and that's about it. I have the aluminum drive shaft ordered and the yeah racing steering set ordered as well. I was thinking about getting the shock tower to use regular shocks as opposed to the upgraded threaded hpi ones because they are a bit expensive. Although the shock towers and shocks would add up to the cost of just getting the hpi ones I like the idea of being able to use any shock, as I already have some lying around from an older nitro car. Any input would be appreciated and taken into consideration. Thank you
