ok here is a quick question guys.. actually a few questions.. i have had 3 tmaxx' before.. had a twin engine tmaxx with picco .21's on it. had another with the picco .26. of course had the 2.5 mtor. ad also tried used 3.3.. these were all the classic widemmax version... so i sold all of that a long tim ago. now i am wanting another t maxx.. i found a 2.5 classic tmaxx that a guy has . he wants 175 bucs fr it.. its only had a quart of fuel ran through it ( i know this for a fact).. but i am also looking at the new 3.3 tmaxx (4908).. is the tranny in the 4908 a lot better than the tranny in the classic edition?? is the 3.3 motor as durable as the 2.5's?? are the diff and driveshafts a lot tougher on the new tmaxx?? if the new tmaxx is a lot faster and more durable i will go that route.. if not i might as wel get the used 2.5.. someone help me out here. where can i find the best deal on a new 4908 tmaxx?

If the 4908 is the real big tmaxx with the foc in it, (no reverse) and bigger tires, then go for that one. It's got the 3.3 on which has alot of power.
and has a bigger stance than the Savage X.

If u think about it the 2.5 is a .15 ci. the 3.3 is a .20 ci. almost a 21 like the 1/8 scale buggies have.
Its got alot more power than the 2.5. lets just say I swiched all my traxxas monster trucks over to 3.3's and never looked backed.

i think the new tmaxx does have some better drive line parts i not sure but i think i remember seeing something about them haveing some of the revo parts

and yes the 3.3 has more power but i know peple with 2.5 out running 3.3's so it all depends on how you have it set up

but if you know the person that is selling the used one and you know its in good shape then thats not a bad deal but id offer $150

Yes, the newer T-Maxx 3.3's have the Revo-spec trannys. Sicne the TRX3.3 makes a significantly more torque over its .15 (TRX2.5 and -R) little brothers, the improved parts are a plus. Of course, I would upgrade the center shafts as well (if Traxxas did not already improve those).

As for teh engine, if you do not like teh TRX engines, you can get teh OS equivalents (OS .18TM and .21TM). These are more expensve than teh TRX engiens, but you will not be disappointed if you get thoese. Additionally, ALL the Traxxas gear (EZ start, etc) will bolt directly onto teh TM engines. Afterall, OS maded these specifically for Traxxas vehicles. (I do not know if this is correct, but a guy at the local track told me "TM" stands for T-Maxx. )

go for the cheaper one and then replace parts as you break them, with aftermarket parts, not stock T-Maxx parts...or you can buy the more expensive one and end up doing the same thing in the end
