I am looking to buy me a new good charger. I am looking to spend around $100 - $140.

I would like to have the cycling ability. Both chargers offer it. I know a couple of people that have the dymon Super Turbo, but don't know anybody that owns the triton.

My friends that have the dymond love it.

Which 1 should I buy

Triton - it is easier to program than the SuperTurbo, and you can charge lead acid and lithium batteries with it.

But I do own two Superturbos...........and I would recommend the Triton..........more functionality. Ive had button problems with my Superturbos.........and at this point could not recommend a ST to anyone.

Let's see how the Triton buttons hold up when they have been in use as long as the SuperTurbo. I think they all, SuperTurbo, SuperNova and Triton use the same basic printed circuit board button. I have had to replace one on a SuperNova, and have one acting up on a SuperTurbo. The buttons are a pretty standard part and are not that hard to replace for anyone with a modicum of PC board repair experience. You will need a solder sucker to do the proceedure, otherwise it is fairly simple.

Where can I find the best deal on either of these chargers.

I have got a Dymon Super turbo from RadicalRC on back order. They said it should ship in about 3 weeks from now. I am going to keep it on back order there unless I can find one somewhere else at a better deal.

Triton was my first charger, cant compare.

After reading RED's posts on TRiton it is very very easy to handle
I am very satisfied

The triton Manual is just plain TRASH, the info is there but not explained to the average modeler so they can understand.

THANK GOD Red was here to help. Red should be on Great Planes pay role the way I see it. I wonder if they read any posts here they would be embarrassed.

I have both.

They are both great units and when I pull out of my house to drive to the field, I have both charging my planes and xmitter.

The Triton has some added features that the Super Turbo doesn't have, but at about $30 more expensive.

My buttons are starting to stick on the ST after a year's worth of use, but I have only had the Triton for two months. As Red stated, let's see how it holds up over time.

FWIW, the Dymond folks told me to ship it to them and they would replace the switches for free. If I knew where to get the right switches, I would save the downtime and do it myself.

If I had to pick one it would be the Triton, but only because it does Li-Ion/LiPoly and Pb Acid.

my 2 cents

But really isnt this a bit ridicules. We as users have to replace the buttons on chargers that are less than a year old. What item is the most used on these chargers. THE Buttons.....so why go cheapo on the highest wear item. And its the item that runs everything.

These buttons sell for 25 cents each no wonder they wear out in six months or less.

Do you think the buttons at the above link are better quality than whats on the stock charger. If you look close it looks like the buttons have screws to hold them to the square bracket.

Knowing what I know now I would never have purchased any of these single port chargers like the SN, ST or the Triton. I would go with one of the German chargers.

Whats maddening........is the people manufacturing these units know the buttons are flakey and continue to use them on new units.

And what is even more maddening . . . . the "German" chargers are probably manufactured in the Pacific rim also.
