Status: offline 		Hi, yes that's the comp ARF (Solo Prop ) which is ground adjustable adjustable pitch, hub has 12 bolts holding the blades and a single bolt holding to a special thrust washer attachment to the engine hub. props are graphite 34, adjusted to 34 x 14. which are made by carf

Doc have you had any issues with your gear not locking down when landing ???

Do you have at least 1/4" off over-lock in your gear? Refer to photo in post #678. That cured my problems with gear folding on landing.

I have had some issues with the the gear locking in the down position. It also seems that it is not the same on either of my gear. One retracts fully into the bay and locks well when down. the other will only lock down if I do not seat the wheel completely in the up position. I have for now decided to have the reliability of the gear locking and forgoes the esthetics of the gear fully retracted. I plan on discussing it next week with Daryl from Sierra retract when I am at Warbirds over Delaware to improve the situation. I think for the price I am reasonable to expect both locked and retracted fully, but it could be something I am not recognizing.

Status: offline 		WOW! What happened to cause the crash in the second video? After looking several times, it looks like both wings unlocked from their set position. Both wings appear to suddenly fold upwards, resulting in the ripping apart of the plane. Perhaps the pilot hit the wing fold switch on the transmitter, or else the wings locking mechanism failed. What are your thoughts?

Status: offline 		I don't think its clear from the video as to what happened? I looked and looked but there's not enough information on the vid.

Maybe it didn't even have folding wings? Maybe it was a structural failure? That's what it looks like from here.

It appears that it (F4U) is in French markings .If you view the beginning of the video one can make out the French yellow invasion stripes, And I did not see that A/C in the photos of the F4U posted by Twinster 61.

I understand these are easy to break.

I just looked at mine and the festo 360 degree swivel is not present but a very stout piece of metal has replaced the festo fitting. Although it does appear that the 'connector' is still used. I'm guessing that only the early models have the festo fitting and an 'upgrade' was made.

Dave at WOD provided me the part numbers as he said motor parts are difficult to obtain:

Status: offline 		Nomenclature came in from Taylor made.

A voice was made that the decals will show.
I've been using decals for decades on my railroad stock and it seems to blend in very well using solvaset, etc.
We'll see how they look after clear coating.
Taylor made gives you a couple small (maybe 1/4 oz) of solvaset and decalset but I have a couple of larger bottles, 'on hand'.
The big problem is no directions are given on location of all that nomenclature!

E mail Taylor made decals and tell him you need the locations for the nomenclature . Ralf should be able to provide you with the locations as he made them. I'm really disappointed in this order as I have used his decals in the past and he provided the locations on a Me 262 and F16.

I better read the instructions for applying the decals: just because I've been putting decals on for decades, doesn't mean these decals are made with the same materials and a new and better technique may be used!

Status: offline 		Moki bottom two cylinders not operating:

While at WOD, the bottom two cylinders were not operating (temp testing) on a Moki 215.
The high end needle was out at least a 1/16" higher than the low needle (probably 5 turns too many).
After setting the needle back to the 1.5 (or so), the lower two cylinders were firing.
I found it interesting that the two bottom cylinders wouldn't fire due to too high of a setting on the high needle.
I also found it interesting that the 215 has five engine mount bolts and my 250 only has three!
