It looks more and more like I will have to go brushless getting fuel looks like it is going to be a hassle. I will go with the Mamba Max and a 4s lipo. I am sure that it should roll on pretty good with that combo. What ya think?

dguy, are you meaning MMM or MM? the MM has fewer options as less motors that're safe to run with the load that the SC8 will hit it with, especially if you're racing. I'd go 6S too if you're going to the MMM (MM's only rated to 3S as a side thought). I've got a MMM with a 1620kv brushless on mine and 4S is too slow to keep up with the truggies which is what my local track makes me run with, so 5S or 6S is the option, and I'm running a pair of 3S in parallel to get the 6S so that when I'm playing at the on road track with the touring cars I've got a pair of 3S batteries I can use in other cars.

matti, the SC8's taken a LOT of abuse, almost as much as my savage.....one unlucky head on wreck cost me probably $50 in repairs though.....bumper w/skid (10), bumper mounts (10), roll bar ball studs (15), upper arm (15)....and that's all that it's taken in some NASTY wrecks, bad landings from jumps and everything else.....

I'm 99.9% positive the SC8 has the same shocks as the RC8T - which are 16mm.. Same as the Hong Nor "Big Bore" shocks.. I have an RC8T, and just bought some Hong Nor Big-bores for my RC8 buggy. They are all big bores.. I'm running the Hong Nor springs on my RC8T shocks..

So if indeed the SC8 has RC8T shocks, they are %100 big bore...

Depends on conditions... The SC8 is RTR, so just see how it goes stock...

mine after converting to brushless, I'm gonna have to load it up with heavier oil....the rear isn't as heavy and the front's heavier than when it was stock.....

but yes, I firmly agree, get it, try it stock, then decide if it needs tweaked for the way you drive, it's set up very well as it is, out of the box.

is it hard to get parts for associated vehicles where you're at? if yes, order a both bumper sets (one comes with the mounts the other comes with the skid) a couple sets of arms, a set of sway bar ball studs......and I think that's it.....

What kind of glow plugs you use? I have heard that the starting system of that truck isn`t so good and that the starter box would be better, so what kind of starter box would do? can i use same box as buggy or truggy?? dhyde79: yes it`s little bit hard to get parts in finland.

starter box would be much better yes, I used the stock plug until I changed the motor, and it made it through most of a gallon....and yes, any 8th scale starterbox would work, same chassis as the RC-8T if memory serves.....if parts are harder to get, well....what other RC trucks do you have, compare parts and order what you break a lot of.....driving style makes a big difference.....for me and my bashing, arms, bumpers, and the sway bar ball ends were essentials cause I destroy em.....for someone that runs on a track, not so bad.....

mine just got finished being converted to brushless the right way, went with the HPI 2200kv motor from the Savage Flux (same as a Neu/Castle Mamba Monster 2200kv motor) and 6S lipo, and I have one thing to say..."holy crap" that thing is obscene, I know beyond any shadow of a doubt that it'll smoke any nitro truggy, which is what I'll be running against at the local track if I choose to race......maybe a report and some pics if I decide to go play this friday during warm up time....
