Joe, the pics are recent.  Same day I posted them actually. I managed to squeeze in some time this evening to swap out the radio in the truck with the upgrade. I think I'll be breaking in the engine Thursday morning and then heading over the FBF to break it in properly on the flat pavement.

If anyones able to hit the Gerritsen beach spot on Friday, 11-2 i'll be able to be there and run. Sunday is a lock for me.  I'll be there Sunday and hope to meet up with you guys there. Weather providing...

Weather for Sunday looks hot and humid with isolated showers in the afternoon.

E-maXX, you wouldn't happen to have any extra 2s lipos would you?

Voxmagna, yes MGT 8.0.  I just ordered a set of Big Joe tires on Tech 5's.  I def have to order a better steering servo for this beast. The stock servo takes about 2 seconds to go from full right to left and sounds like its crying lol.   I almost went with the Savage because it came with better radio gear right out of the box. I knew with the MGT I'd be investing in radio...but I like my toys on the overpowered side

You have the MGT and the Savage XL 5.9? The 5.9 looks killer. How do you like them?

Big Joes are great...i still have a fresh set on chrome rims...may bring them with me. I really havent ran them much because there a lil heavy and the 23mm pro line adapters i have suck. But u should have not problem with the weight with that 8.0 monster!
I saw a good deal on ebay for some 40 series bow ties with light dish rims and won the bid...if they get here in time, ill bring those also those.
My engine is def going to be here on thrusday morning...if im able to install and break in thursday evening, i would love to come out friday. But i wont have vehicle to get there (this weekend i will). Luggin my big R/C tote bag on older buses is no fun

Also... E-MaXX360...just wondering if the the LIRR run near where u bash?..maybe we can meet up sometime next week for some bashin.

Now steering ohh yes steering, it flatout sucksssss Immediately purchase one of TheDudes Draglinks

Ok, so lets shoot for this Sunday (8/5/12) at around noon? Behind BJs?

So far we have confirmed

1. CranKitUP
2. GaryAH - 917 414 0866
3. E-MaXX360 - 631 624 5052
4. jo831ny 917 596 8651
5. Voxmagna
Who else?

For those who are not sure how to get there, take the Belt Parkway to exit 15, Erskine St. Then, follow the red line I made in this pic and park by the red circle, maybe we all meet up there? Next we walk the blue line to the spot. If you have a 4wd vehicle, you can drive right onto the spot and park behind the trees where no one can see you. If you have a 2wd real car you will get stuck for sure. There is also a place for you to pull over and drop off equipment so you don't have to carry it all.

edit: I forgot, EmaXX, bringing you quadcopter with camera would make sick aerial videos!
edit 2: If any of you guys have paddle tires, those would be perfect. I have an extra set but they are 12mm hex which I doubt anyone uses.

Wow, that's a lot, great thanks. If you could charge some of the 2s and bring them that would be awesome, I only have one safe 1/10 battery and 2 1/16 batteries. I have a thunder ac6 charger too, I think it went bad, it reads all the voltages weird. For example if I put a pack from storage they are 3.8v per cell, then I put it on charge mode and one reads 3.9 and one reads 4.15 even though in storage mode the charger says they are both at 3.8v. Also they could both be a 4.0v and the charger will read the pack voltage as 8.4v. Think I need a new charger ( $$)

I have a lot of 1/16 batteries too,  About 10 3s 1000mah batteries.  lol. It does sound like u need a new charger. lol  I never used storage mode.  Whats that?  And should I bring my X-01 and my 1/16 rally drift car or are we just gonna do offroad?  And what connector lead is on your esc.  Because the connctor might be different on my battery

Thanks for the great links, Voxmagna.  I am ordering one of the draglinks tonight. The MGT site is loaded with useful info.    I ordered some savage 17mm hubs to mount the tech 5's on. Heard that worked from some MGT forums.

I thought we were all heading to Gerritsen Sunday. BJ's is no problem for me but I don't have paddles, just the stock all terrains that come with the MGT.  they don't look like they would be very good in lots of loose sand.  If thats where your all gonna conect I'll be there and see how it goes with this setup.

In the meantime i'll be breakin it in and test running it over at FBF Friday

See ya'll soon

Yea, you should be ok there, I just need the paddles cas my truck is only 2wd. Gerritsen or BJs either spot would be fun, up to you guys. I said BJs just to have someplace set, if people would rather check out your spot that's cool. Or we could always go there next weekend too.

Either place is only 10-15min away from FBF too. I think I 5 way truck race on the track would be fun even if it is pavement.

I'll shoot you a text Gary if I get back early enough on Friday, FBF is like <5min from my house.

@ EmaXXX, thanks, appreciate it.

LiPos are supposed to be stored at about 50% capacity or 3.8-3.85 volts/cell. Most battery manufacturers say if they will be left for more than 2 days they should be set to a storage voltage, or their life/performance will decrease. The thunder ac6 does have a lipo storage mode.
