Cool, so lets set something up for the near future. Gary, are you gonna try out the trenchers or stick with the big joes? Check out the Masher 2000 tires also.

One thing you other guys with MGTs should check out is the body that Gary has on his 8.0. I know you guys like to run with the body off so you can start it back up easy if it stalls or whatever, but with the body Gary has, you can just lift up the back to do whatever, and it just snaps back down when your done, no clips

The ring and pinion gear look good, it was one of the spider gears.  A couple of teeth just seemed to have broken off one of them. It also appears to have had very little fluid inside. I'm rebuilding it and filling with some heavy weight  fluid.

Joe, I think the older MGT's also have the hinged front body post and quick clip on the back as my 8.0 does. Some people just prefer running without the bodies on, but I enjoy it more when the truck looks like a truck.

I actually am bidding on a set of Trenchers mounted on Desperado wheels on ebay. I also just bought a set of Trenchers and wheels for my sons Pede.  I'd like to also try out some Badlands. It would be much more of a stadium truck with those smaller tires

How late? We were there for about an hour before we got kicked out.

Gary, I've heard good things about the Badlands too, supposed to be one of the best.

I don't think they sell unmounted foams. Check out Jaco foams, but those are premounted.

Trying to buy some used Trenchers or Badlands on Ebay but very disappointing. Most all listings are new and from dealers that try to hit you up with huge shipping charges. I can get cheaper from amain hobbies.  The one used set of trenchers I found and bid on went up to 60.00! I can get them new for a little more.

Dunno man, they are pretty expensive in 3.8. I can't imagine people wanting to sell there tires if they are some of the best available in the first place, might have to go new. I think I would get unmounted though, this way you could tape them inside to prevent ballooning.

I may put my Big Joes up on Ebay if I love the Trenchers and may try the Badlands. I thought about buying them separate to strap them but its even more expensive that way, and i'm just bashing not racing. I pulled the trigger on some Trenchers mounted to Tech 5 wheels at amain hobbies. Best price and free shipping. 77.00 and change, not bad.  Yep, the 3.8 are pricey...

How do you (or your son) like them on the pede? If you do go brushless they will definitely balloon like crazy and look like pizza cutters. Taping is not just for racers, imagine how much control you loose riding on such a thin contact patch. I would also recommend balancing them. On the pede you could just put all the tires on the front stub one at a time, spin them and see where they stop and add some clay to the top.

The tires for his Pede didnt come yet. I ordered separate wheels and tires so I will certainly tape them.  For my MGT i ordered the pre- mounts (much less expensive for some reason to have them mount it) I guess its a "bundle" pricing thing.  Good video.  The large tires on my MGT don't have to spin anywhere near the rpm of the smaller tires to achieve the same speed but I realize there is still significant ballooning going on. The truck isnt going to be WOT often and mostly bottom ending... Looking forward to them
