Hey Dan.
Yeah, it's nice. We got a late start on getting some pic's. We'll get some more this weekend hopefully sitting on all 3.
We were talking about where to place the switches and stuff tonight. I told him he is more than welcome to come out to LAMA.
Sorry about the picture size. We were having trouble with that for some reason.

Hey Everyone. My buddie rcrebel wanted me to throw some pictures up for him of his 300.
It's coming along pretty good. He's just taking his time and getting everything perfect.
I'm hopen he gets the gear on soon.

Cory,
Do you know what size spinner that is? I'm trying to figure out if my 4 1/2inch spinner is going to work or not on mine. If that's a 4 inch I think mine will work out. install looks good so far. Can't wait to get mine.

4 inch on the spinner. Here's the one that rcrebel is putting on it. It has to be redrilled.

RC4X4, That spinner that you have does it seem to be a good one? A friend of mine said that spinner is cast aluminum and not machined. He said he wouldn't trust it on a large bird like we are building. What do you think? Also can you get a better picture of the prop where it goes into the spinner? GP told me that spinner is cut for a 30x12. Does it look ok? I might buy one if they are ok.

Hey there. This is actually a friend of mines plane. The spinner seems to be ok. The holes are already drilled into the backplate for a DA170 I believe.
They don't line up with a DA100. I'm not sure if there is a difference in the prop bolt pattern on these motors.
He thought for $25.00 bucks it was worth the try.

I just ordered one of these spinners. In the 4" size, and red of coarse. The guy that I bought it from said its good up to 9000RPM's. If my DA-100 spins that ever. I think I'll have trouble!!

32 bucks shipped to my house... VERY NICE!!!

Why would you buy a $1000 plane and use a $32 plastic spinner? Makes no sense to me. Buy a no limitz spinner or a True turn.

I thought I would post some pics of mine since it is pretty much ready to go. I came out right at 27.5 pounds and I got it to balance level with the rudder servo in the tail and batteries up beside the fuel tank. I just prefer a short stiff linkage instead of pull-pull. I think this is the best looking plane AeroWorks has out right now. Equipment is as listed below.

DA-100L with standard mufflers
Vess 27B with NoLimitz Silver Fiberglass spinner
Hitec 7955TG's on the ailerons and elevators (45 degrees of throw each direction on 3D rates)
JR 8711 on the rudder (45 degress of throw each direction on 3D rates)
Fromeco 7.4V, 2600 Li-Ions (3) Two on the receiver/servos and one on the ignition
Smart-Fly Competition 12 Turbo with Smart-Fly Optic Ignition Cut Off
Smart-Fly Ignition Regulator 5.2V
All Extensions from TroyBuiltModels

looks good!!! I got mine a week ago and just about have it built. What an easy build. I've spent about 25 hours on it so far and all I have left is to drill my prop and fit the cowl.I'm a little bummed about the fit using a 3w 106cs the 90degree plastic velocity stack hits the bottom of the cowl so I'm going to have to cut it not too far back from the inlet hole that's not cut out. what did you use for trim on the fibreglass parts?
cheers,
Richard....

I used Pre-Split Gear Cuff Combing that I ordered from Dons Hobby Shop in Salina, KS. It works really slick and you just CA it in place once you get it cut and where you want it. It really dresses up the edges where parts meet and makes your muffler cutout and things like that look really clean.

Thanks for the info. I can't seem to find it on their site but will email them and sort it out. Are you planning on flying it soon or are you waiting for better weather. I'm hoping to maiden mine on Friday if the weather works out. I haven't balanced mine yet and am curious to see how it's going to work out with the 3w106 and cannisters. I'm using the pull pull and planning on putting all the batteries fairly far back. hopefully I won't need to put the batteries in the tunnel.
cheers,
Richard...

Just give them a call and they will help you out. Don and his wife are probably 2 of the nicest, most helpful people in the hobby. Their number is 1-800-972-6273. Now, as for flying it that is up in the air. I would like to this week, but we just got dumped on this past Friday and there is a lot of snow on the ground again. Hopefully by the weekend, most will be melted agian and maybe I can sneak a flight in. If I do, I will report how it goes.

That looks awesome! One thing that has been noted on another website (FG), is that AW did not do silver wing and stab tips. Apparently, this was noted before. Still looks awesome!

Yes, after more test flying I found the silver tips on the stabs and wings made the wings look short and the plane hard to see. Also, when we displayed the plane at different events and shows most customers said they would prefer the silver tips removed. So for the production model I selected to remove the silver tips.

Thank You
Rocco / Aeroworks

How the fit and finish ? Looks nice from the pics. Its hard to tell how big the plane is from the pictures, but I hear it is larger than the 260 in size.

I have seen the 260 once at the field and it was along time ago. But comparing it to my 33% Edge 540 it's gynormous!!

I like it very much. The fit of all of the triangle stock and all the fitted joints are tight and have glue in them. Yes I said they all have glue in them. I am very impressed.

I have a quique pitts python it this thing dwarfs it. the fuse is bigger in every respect. the tail feathers are quiet a bit bigger as well. Had my engine running yesterday in my yard and everything seems to be rock solid. My python looks like it's going to rattle to pieces and the extra hardly vibrates at all. Still hoping to maiden it tomorrow but not too sure if the weather is going to hold out or not. Now they are talking about snow or rain.
