Sorry for the delay in getting back to you all, and I haven't taken any pictures yet, but here is how it's gone.
Both Yaks were fantastic to build, took 3 evenings to do both. I put the OS75s in both and I'm not at all sorry about that choice. These planes handle every bit as nice as my 50cc AW Yak! It will hover on the OS75, but not a lot of extra pull out power, but I was running 14X6 on both for break in and test flights. I'm pretty sure that after they've had a gallon run thru and I can tune them up a little they will do much better, especially with a 4W blade. But for sportsman sequence they already have every bit of power they need.
There is one gotcha you should watch out for! I'd be very careful about the blind nuts. 3 out of 4 blind nuts on the fire wall broke off at the barrel & head. I've been building kits and ARFs a long time and I know for a fact I didn't put too much torque on them. I also had one on the second plane do this, and one on the canopy! (and you know you can't over torque those). I've never seen this before, I'm sure they must have had a bad batch, but no way to tell how many of these are out there. You may want to consider replacing them propolactically.
I used all the stock hardware and JR821s all around, I felt no need to upgrade the HW, and the 821 standard digitals performed very well, even in blenders and knife edge spins. I put the batteries on top of the motor box, and inverted had a slight nose down, I'll move them back to just in front of the wing tube. Side thrust seems to be right on (but I need to move the CG back before I can be sure). It Knife edged with low rate rudder, and had only the VERY slightest pull to the canopy. But all of this is right out of the box on the first two flights.
All in all, Aeroworks comes thru again with a ARF that is well worth the money and way above anything else out there.

That's GREAT to hear!!!! I'm so happy someone has one in the air! Well, you have two...but still. I do have to ask...was it a true "QB" series plane, or did you have to hinge all of the control surfaces? Also, were the holes for the control horns pre-drilled/pre-marked? The pictures show one thing, the manual shows another. What's it ACTUALLY like?? I'm dying to hear about it!

I got my Extra 260 yesterday after UPS promised it Monday then delayed it for 2 more days. I guess the weather and the Xmas rush was slowing them down.

I ordered 5 HS- 5645 digital servos. They seem to be pretty powerful and fast. Servo City had them on sale for $11 off the regular price. I haven't used digitals before, I hear they suck more power. I also ordered a 2000mH NiMh battery which I hope is enough.

The plane was missing one of the wing hinges. I suppose I can get one at the hobby shop. It looks like it should be a pretty easy build. Most of the holes are already drilled for you.

The way the weather is around here it'll be 4 months before I get a chance to fly it.

I left for Utah before noon on the 26th, but in the short time I actually worked on my plane....I got a lot done. I have yet to order the servos or mess with the engine, but everything else is almost done. I cut the elevator in half, installed all of the control horns, glued in the vertical stab, and glued all of the hinges together. Since I'm using a twin-elevator servo set-up, I had to cut the elevator in half. Since I did that, they each needed seperate control horns...so I'm going to buy aluminum control horns for the rudder. I haven't started on the engine/engine mount or the servos yet....but that's soon to come. It went together painlessly and easily. Probably the easiest ARF I've assembled, and definitely the best looking ARF I've ever seen. All of the hinges aren't glued in yet, but I didn't do a thing besides drip super-glue where it needed to go. Everything lined up straight and easy. The only halfway hard thing to do was set up the springs for the tail-wheel...but I'm sure it was easier than I made it out to be. Still, I didn't think I mucked anything up too badly.

I'm getting my order ready for this plane. I have a question on the servos. Is this plane set up for standard sized servos or minis?

Standard. Dropping in mini's won't be too big of a deal, though.

Thanks victor, I was thinking about using the mini hitec but not sure yet. I have them in a reactor and they have done well, so far. Have you decided on what engine and servos you are going to use on this plane?

Yeah, I'm using a Saito 100 for power. I've got two Saito 100's (one for sale, btw)...so I bought that ARF to go with the engine (well, I asked for it). I'm going with hyperion servos on the wings and the rudder. I'm going with a Hitec Hs-225MG on each elevator half. If you go back to the first page you'll see the link to the servos.

I've got a Saito 100 myself that I'm planning to use in this plane. I'm also thinking about using the hs225mg.

I feel like the Saito 100 is the best option for that plane. I've been advised against the 225's on this plane, but then someone else said that they'd be fine except for the rudder. I decided that 68oz-in wasn't enough for the ailerons either (plus I didn't want the hassle of putting minis in a standard hole) so I just decided on 3 standards and 2 minis. The hyperions seem to be incredible deals so I can't really pass them up.

I've used the hs225's on many planes with no problems. I may just go ahead and use some hs625mg's because of the standard sized holes.

Well, I've never even seen a mini servo (just standard, quarter scale, and micro)...so I have no idea as to what would work, that's just what I've been told. If you don't have those servos yet, look at the hyperions. If not, then those should be fine.

Yeah. It came included in one of the bags (the manual maybe?). It was just a sheet of stiff paper marked like a protractor but instead of having the angles start at the sides, it started in the middle. I like it. I've never had or used one before, but now I can actually tell angles instead of just guessing! Did you get one?

What you have is the rudder gauge. The throw meter is a close pin looking thing which hooks to the ail or elevator. The web site says that it comes with the kit but the kit contents page in the manual says nothing about it.

Well then, no throw meter. Thanks for the info on that. It's time to contact Aeroworks and ask them what's up!!

Yes, prophylactically is what I meant. Guess I shouldn't try to use words I can't spell, and I'm usually forget to run spell check.

For everyone else, sorry again for the delay but between Christmas, visitors, flying and building I've been pretty busy.
QB? Yes, except for the hinges these were just as fast as my 50cc size. Throw meter? No, just the paper meter for for the rudder. My 50cc Yak came with both.
A friend of mine also received his and he had me put it together for him, guess what? the same exact thing with the blind nuts, 2 of 4 broke right off. I've tried to contact Aeroworks several times to let them know, but I never get past the receptionist.
I've started dialing things in. Moved the batteries back from the motor box to just in front of the wing tube. KN left to right needed slight right aileron & down elevator (3% each). KN right to left needed 3% up elevator. These were extremly slight changes and it now KNs with rudder only.
I've been running the OS75 on a APC 14X6 for break in, it now has about 12 flights and I just put a 15X6 wood on. Eventually I'll try a 4W and see what she does in 3D.
Verticle is not unlimited with the 75 and I don't expect will be even after full break in and prop changes, but there's nothing in sportsman it won't do.
Tomorrow we'll see how the changes go and I plan to try some inverted spins.
So far, I LOVE IT.

I think any engine you listed would do well, obviously each with their own pro's and con's. I think this plane is going to be awesome regardless of the engine!
