On top of that ... Mugen still has not fixed the problem with the rear axles breaking on the Truck. They don't have any extra gear sets for the truck either. Atleast with the NT you get 4 choices.

everythign i see with the hardcore racers is xxx-nt or rc10gt in the winners chair.

so the only difference between the rtr and the drake is the graphite?
not counting the engine and radio/servos.
??????????????????????????????????????????
That's pretty much it. The Drake is all graphite, and the RTR is not. Another nice thing about the Drake is that it has some real nice threaded shock bodies unlike the RTR ones which aren't threaded.

Look at my post after this for whats up with XXX-NT's and MST 1's.

OK,

I see alot of posting about MST-1 Vs. XXX-NT. I look at them with about the same competitive ability. The thing about the MST-1 is that it is a pain to get parts for the thing. I know at all my LHS's I can get every part for my XXX-NT with ease, so I don't have to quit using my truck for a week or so waiting for parts like you would have to do with the MST-1. Its all about parts availability.

It's crazy though..... my LHS has tons of Mugen mst-1 replacement parts! .....and xxx-nt..... rc10gt!
I still picked the losi xxx-nt because it's much cheaper(I got the RTR sport), I like it better than the rc10gt and the mugen will cost a whole lot more to get started! Yes I was RTR shopping.....

Ok.. got it running good today, was running out on my road, hit the brakes, it slid into a rock near the road, broke a ball cup, nothing big. Guess it's time for some new tires .

how is mugen more to get started? i see the adam drake as more expensive, because for 360 you can get the mugen with the awesome .12 engine which they provide with the rex muffler.
the adam drake alone costs about 320, but also come with a nice Tl exhaust.

i guess the reason you dont see too many mugens on the track is cuz its relatively new.

and its very close to the adam drakes design, except for the shocks, and the mst-1 is supposedly easier to work on, expecially the sterring servo.

if i had the adam drake already i wouldnt sell it to get the mst-1, but since i have neither id go for the cheaper choice.

and btw packfan88, do you know if brownies carries mugen parts?

There is a 4 truck shootout in my new nitro magazine with the associated, losi, mugen and kyosho trucks. I would love to own all 4! the top end models were used of course. I think the main advantage of the losi, kyosho and associated trucks is that if you buy a rtr or basic kit, a better replacement part is available. This appeals to people who are new and dont realize how obsessed they will become! I have a friend into a gt rtr a year ago and he now owns a mbx-4 works,t-maxx, triple x-s, 2 FT GT's, a mini z, XXX-T, and probably some more since I have not seen him for 2 months. In his RC frenzy he did loose 1 thing........his wife..........

Hey, I was considering buy a Fantom engine off of ebay brand new, and I was wondering whether to get the FR .12 Pullstart with a Rotary Carb or the FR .12 Pullstart with a Slide Carb. This will be used on my XXX-NT. I would also like to know if $89.99 for the FR .12 rotary carb/pull start is a good deal, and if $79.99 for the FR .12 slide carb/pull start is a good deal. Both engines are Brand New, Thanks!

Well I can only speak from my own experience with 2 trucks the factory team GT and the drake xxx-nt, I perfer the losi. as for RC Nitros shootout there were 5 judges, 1 chose associated,1 kyosho,1 losi and 2 mugen (totaly politicaly correct, all 4 companys advertise with the magazine) But they are all nice trucks so its understandable. The factory team gt is the best value I would say as far as lots of goodies . What ever you can get parts for at your local hobby shop would be a good place to start. stan www.1stplacerace.com

Thinking of giving my XXX-NT up so I can get a RC10GT.. I have had about 5 RC10GTs and seem to like them more then the XXX-NT. The only reason I got the xxx-nt was for a change. The RC10GT is a lot easier to work on in my opinion.. Don't have to take apart the whole car to get the the servo or the gas tank. Nice and Simple! There also seems to be a much bigger hop-up supply for the RC10GT. I am not going to claim that the rc10gt is faster or handles better, because in my opinion they pretty much handle the same. Right now I am just trying to trade for a rc10gt, but I doubt that will happen so I will probably end up selling it and buying a rc10gt. Just thought I'd let everyone know .
