I've got three ideas. 1. Check your crystals. It's hard to do unless you have a spare, but dropping your radio or getting big air jumping your car can damage your crystals which might cause similar symptoms. 2. Bypass your on / off switch. If you clean your car with any water based products like simple green, 409, or anything like that, you may develop some rust on the contacts inside your switch. It's about the only truely exposed area of the radio on the car. 3. Try a range check with the car off. See if you are experiencing the same problem with the engine off. If not, make sure that you have a large enough gap in your coupler between the muffler and your pipe. The vibrations can sometimes cause radio interferience.
