I will try to lean it out and see if that makes a difference.. I haven't tried much of anything yet, just wanted to throw it out there.

Question about engine tuning. The car seems to run good how it is tuned now but it seems that most of the time, if I am stopped and punch it, the engine boggs way down before it will take off, sometimes it even stalls. Do you think I am running to rich?

Try leaning your low speed needle a little at a time. It sounds like you're loading up on fuel during idle. Set the high speed needle set properly first, then change the LSN. The pinch test is a good way to do it. Search the forums for "pinch test." Once you get the LSN set correctly, there should be a smooth transition to higher RPMs. You might need to tweak the HSN after you adjust the LSN, depending on your engine.

Thanks av8torjim, I read on my engine manual about the pinch test. I will try that. I just replaced my entire carb with a brand new one so I assume it will need a bit more adjusting, I have never tried adjusting the low speed needle.

So I do the pinch test and the RPMs speed way up, so it seems that it is too rich so I adjusted that.. Then I leaned off the HSN and wow, what a difference.. Its a fine art getting it tuned right. My question is, will I always have to tweak it based on the temperature outside and after the engine is warmed up?

I leaned it up and wow does the truck GO when it is lean, it accelerates so fast, it pops wheeles and actually did a back flip on level ground but that temp went up way to high on the engine, I need to find a happy medium. I don't really race the truck so I don't need super performance so a bit rich would be better since it will make the engine last longer but I also do not want it to stall from getting to much gas.

I think what you should do is try to switch servos around. After you switch them, check to see if the same servo glitches. If it does, then its just a bad servo that you have to replace. If the servo that was in the throttle is clitching in the steering place then you know it could be a bad reciver. Just remember to switch the ends at the receiver, I don't think I need to tell you that, but some people like me tend to forget to check that stuff. Anyway man if none of these help then I think your truck came out of an excorcism movie and likes to have seziers what the engine rips....haha.

You shouldn't have to tweak it every time you use it. I only make adjustments if there has been a drastic change in temperature since I got it adjusted properly. Humidity and temperature can make a difference. I forget the basic rules, but I think hotter temps mean thinner air, so you need to lean the HSN (less air needs less fuel to keep the same air to fuel ratio) and vice versa.

I try to run a little on the rich side. It's better for engine longevity. I'm just getting interested in racing, so I haven't had the need for the nth degree of performance. Good luck.

Yes losixxx-nt is right. The trans and the a-arms are the most breakable commen parts and also the break hub that the disk break slides over. I am soon to have full aluminum gears in a week. Has anyone ever thought about placing rubber o-rings between the motor mounts and the engine to lower the amount of vibration that goes threw the truck? Only asking cause I am in the procces of building an all aluminum and titanium xxx-nt and I would like to have less vibration so my radio and servos do not get messed up over time.. I'll post pictures soon!

Rubber mounts will flex (which would allow it to disperse the vibrations) and throw off your gear mesh. I would not recommend it.

On the controler if i go to the menu rev/norm on norm when i pull the trigger back its on brake but on rev whell i push the trigger forward its brake. I like the push the trigger forward for brake. I havent started the car will the rev mode mess around with the throttle trim? Thanks

As far as I know, the reverse function will "mirror image" the trim settings so there shouldn't be any problem there, but if there is...just re-do the trim.
