I see you live in Lake Orion, which is an hour away. I used to do work in Oxford and it always seemed like I was going upnorth everytime. I will say people drive slow over there. Anyways theres a store called Dirt Burners in Commerce, off of Haggerty rd. They used to have an indoor track, but I am not sure what happend with it. But they are opening a new outdoor track in Livonia that is still in construction. Im not sure what its called but it's located off of Hinse dr half mile past Haggerty. They plan on moving the store soon I guess. I was just there not to long ago. There is also a track in Taylor too, but I never been there and I hear bad rumors all the time about it. Thats about it really, not many tracks are around anymore cause people can't afford the hobby with the economy like this. I thought Orion and Oxford would be the perfect area for a track since there is alot of open property there. Unless its changing, Last time I was out that way was last winter. I'll let you know when Dirt Burners open there track soon.

Hey everyone, I posted this in my own thread but just realized this thread was here so I thought I'd try here too. I traded an amp and a pair of subs I had today and got a used Losi XXX-NT Adam Drake with O.S. .12TR. It has a ton of aftermarket stuff on it, including aluminum A-Arms, aluminum hub carriers, aluminum steering knuckles, aluminum shock towers, and an aluminum battery box. It also has a hump pack and I'm pretty sure it has these shock mounts. The problem though is that the aluminum shock towers are missing the body mounts, and I can see where they bolt in to, but I have no idea what shock towers they are. I found one of the mounts and it's just a little tiny thing that screws into the shock towers. There should be 4 of them. Does anyone know what the shock towers are from the pics below and where I can get the body mounts? Also I'm most likely going to sell this truck, the motor is in good shape with very good pinch and compression, and supposedly only had about 10 to 12 tanks run through it, although I don't know if that's true. The radio is an old crappy Futaba magnum jr. Does anyone have any idea what it might be worth? Thanks.

Am I the only one tearing up the rear shock tower/gear box/battery box connection almost every time I go to the track? Yesterday I landed slightly nose high on a fairly long, high-speed jump and ended up hitting the bottom of the battery box first. For the umpteenth time I pulled the screws out of the gear box. I'm getting tired of replacing the gear box because the screws strip out the holes. Other than getting better at landing flat, what can I do to keep from pulling the screws out of the gearbox. Now that I think about it, I've pulled the screws out without landing on the battery box more than once. A hard landing, even flat, puts a lot of pressure on the shock tower. Why didn't they design the shock tower to screw into metal? Sorry for the rant. BTW, it's an AD1.

Av8torJim, have you thought about replacing plastic to aluminum parts? I just replaced my graphite arms to aluminum considering that I know they will break soon on the track.

Not really, other than the gear box. Aluminum shock towers will just add weight and bend. I guess a metal gear box would at least have metal threads that might not strip as easily. I just can't believe how easy it is to tear the rear shock tower off. I'm not talking endos after an out of control jump at 35 mph. I'm talking controlled jumps that land slightly askew. I realize the AD1 is built for racing, not bashing, but I'm only running it at a sanctioned track. I drive there for days without doing any damage to my Mayhem Pro buggy, but tear the AD1 up almost every time I go out. Even my 10 year old son's Evader is stronger than the AD1, and he's been known to hit the triples at 35 to 40 mph to see how far it flies! Other than the rear shock tower design, I love the AD1. Oh well, I guess that's the price we pay to play.

are you using 4-40 screws or are you putting metric screws in?
also they updated the battery box since the AD1, you might want to pick up a new one if you still have the original

I'm using 4-40 screws and have replaced the battery box with what I guess is the newer version. It's the one hanging on the wall at the LHS that sells a lot of parts, so I assume it's not the old version still hanging around. The problem is always the same: pulling out the screws that connect the shock tower to the gearbox, which strips out the threads in the gearbox. Thanks.
