DON'T cut the shaft. Shim it. Your LHS should have shims that fit the shaft. There was a recent article in RC Driver or RC Car Action that showed how to do it. It's not hard.

If you never have cut a crankshaft befor , don`t do it . For 1mm , just shim it and will be good .

I'm attempting to put my diff together and I forgot to get the clear diff grease but I do have the associated black grease...is this going to be a problem cause the LHS isn't very close?

Thanks a bunch everyone! I will try the shim and let you know how it went.
    Thanks

BTW - There is a shim in front of the engine bearing. It was the first thing that went on and that is how the AD2 manual instructions show how to do it.

This brings up another question - Since there is already a shim infront of the engine bearing do I replace it with a bigger shim? OR do I leave the 1st shim and get another next to it? OR do I add a second shim in front of the clutch spacer?

    Thanks!

    Hello again!

OK here is the update to my clutch spacer problem.

To refresh - my issue was that I got a new engine and was in process of putting on a new clutch assembly. Everything went on great except that there was about a 1mm space between the clutch spacer and the snap ring. The advice I got was to use what I had laying around, so I did. I had an extra glow plug shim and that fits perfect for this situation. The glow plug shim from a McCoy 59 fits right in between the spacer and the snap ring, and is the correct size to fit on the clutch nut. I would guess that most glow plugs of this size with a shim would work.

So unless I hear back that this is not a good thing I will consider this a usefull tip.

Thanks everyone for the help! Steve

Yes but I dont rember who. The problem with aluminum is it wears into the spring starts to hang up and destroys the clutch bell.
If you want a good clutch setup use the MIP shoes with the losi spring, a lot better than stock shoes and they last a long time

Steve what I use is the center race from old axle bearings takes 2. Fits perfect and doesnt wear like stock alum. junk. If this is done no shim needed.
