Status: offline 		My Spektrum DX5e will not turn on when connected to AFPD and AFPD says it can't find the controller/radio. I have the newest adaptor for JR/Spektrum (AFP 02). New batteries and the radio does come on when I turn on the power switch. The adaptor works great with my 9303.

Status: offline 		Hi hobdean, please post a photo of the usb interface cable you have. Did you push the connectors fully in, between the radio and adapter, and between the adapter and the usb interface? Did you disable the trainer mode in the radio? Thanks

Status: offline 		All cables are connected good. I switched between 9303 and the DX5e and the 9303 works fine but, not the DX5e. What mono connector are you talking about? If you read my request, I have the latest connection for JR/Spekrum.

Maybe the trainer port is broke? DX5e is a new radio from Horizon.

Status: offline 		Thanks for the photo. You have the right adapter. It could be the mechanical tolerances of the trainer socket in this new JR radio is different causing a contact problem. Try plugging in the usb cable directly into your radio, without the adapter. Do you get an intermittent connection with AFPD?

Status: offline 		there is an intermittent connection without the adaptor but, it never stays on long enough. I can't find my regular JR buddy box cable to see if it works. Is the adaptor the same size as the JR buddy box cable? I do appreciate any help you can give me

Status: offline 		Can you do soldering work? I can suggest some modification to the stereo plug at the end of the usb cable. This may work, but no guarantees

To ask the question again, I guess the adaptor plug is different than the regular JR buddy cord?

The sim adaptor seemed like it was too loose in the 5e. I know the adaptor and jr trainer cord are wired different but, are they the same size?

Status: offline 		Hi hobdean, yes I received your email and I will prepare a diagram for you later. Jr is known to have inconsistencies with its socket tolerances, and can change from batch-to-batch, and radio-to-radio. The plug used is basically a mono 3.5mm.
