Status: offline 		I just started on my Aero-Works 85cc Yak I had a friend pick up for me, just before Thanksgiving. Last Week I sold a 100cc Sukhoi RTF. I was planning on ordering the 150cc Yak QB (new color scheme) now you guys come out with this cool bipe. I've had the chance to fly the H9 Bipe, NICE. I was trying to decide between a jet and the 150cc Ulti for my 50th birthday present... luckily, the birthday is in February!

I've got everything to go in this plane, 3W 170, cans, all the servos, etc... just need to pull them out of my H9... looking forward to that project!

How about a 75-85cc version?
I,ve got a 75cc Extra but the Ultimate for my DA85 would be just that!

There is mention around here or somewhere I read recently of a 100cc version in the works, due possibly in the fall.
Put your 85 on a pipe Makes as much power as a 100cc

Status: online 		I see the AW website has the assembly manual posted now for the 150cc.. looks like the typical very clean AeroWorks build. Great selection of motor templates, even a custom spacer for the DA150. Looks like PLENTY of room in the fuse, even with a canister tunnel taking up part of it. mounting brackets are included for both canisters and pipes, and there are removable hatches to access the tunnel during the build and later for maintenance.

One of my biggest complaints with canisters has always been actually getting the compression clamps on the adapters.... it looks like they are easily accessable from the bottom of the fuse.

my only "dig" on the model from looking at the book, and it's been a dig on every AW plane I've owned.... is the main wheels. I land on paved surfaces (well, I try to), and those solid foam wheels can get chewed up in no time, especially on a plane this heavy.

Still looking for the flying videos... I know these things take time, especially with the holidays.

My build table is cleared off, it's too cold and windy to fly, and folks are trying to buy my H9 bipe already..... let's get the planes into the US fast!

It looks like the same size as a 100cc python...

Is that due to the scale? Is a pits python a bigger plane and therefore bigger when scaled down?

Status: online 		I think it"s a 42%, as opposed to the H9 46%... weights seem pretty comparable, but AW's have always been a little on the heavy side.

Status: offline 		With out knowing the specifications for either the 3W or the Mintor I am not certain how they will fit. If you give us a call we can give you the exact inside dimensions of the cowling. I would think they would fit but the engine box length might be a little long. You may have to cut it to fit the longer engine

I'm planning on getting this plane next week.
My concerns are the control arms using what looks like screws with
thick ca glue.
Will this be strong enough for all out 3-D?
Last thing I need is for the screws to rip out...
Is this config done on Jason's 20-300?

Surely, you mean't Aeroworks support ...Aero-tech might as well be a four-letter-word.

As far as the control arms are concerned, they are steel so they aren't going to break. The area they mount to is ply, top and bottom, and solid balsa as a filler. There are 6 screws attaching each control horn set. I have the 42% 260 with just one servo per elevator, two per wing, and a push-pull on the rudder and have never had a problem in over a year of flying. Bottom line is that there is nothing to worry about here.
My suggestion, however, is to first tap the holes with a dry screw, then wick thin CA into the holes instead of just putting a drop of thick CA on the screw and inserting it. The thin CA definitely makes for a stronger threaded hole.
One thing that you might consider for even more assurance, is to switch out the supplied screws for Dubro #4 screws or #3 servo screws from microfasteners. One reason for this is because they are allen head screws instead of phillips, but they are also a higher quality screw.
Also, if you want to go to the trouble of installing Dubro or Hangar 9 style arms with the threaded rods all the way through the control surface you can do so.
