Get spare gears, axles, pulleys, pins and wheel hexes, I have stripped, snapped, and twisted them all with a .21 in an rs4.

Damn man, makes me very glad that I never built a RS4 then. My CD3 only needed to have upgraded axles and that's it. The gears are 1.0 with the .08 gears as optional, the pins are like 1/8th scale pins and no way can I see the hexes breaking.

Good luck to all you crazy "nasty 1/10th scale" builders!

How's it going guys never been on this thread before. I found it when I clicked on one of the names at the top of the page in the firestorm forum. I do have to say that I see a lot of sweet rides in here. I have a nitro firestorm with the same 1/8 scale foams u guy are running and it came with a 19 tooth cb and a 50 tooth spur and a 4.11 trans breakdown. Mounted a idler on it so it has a 16 tooth cb and a 20 tooth spur that gets me into the mid 70's. with a modified .21. But after seeing what you are doing in here I have a cd3 in the mail now and was wondering what gearing to go with to maybe get into the 100 mph club or as fast as possibe without a sacrifice in acceleration. Think I can do it since I have made a single speed st that can smoke a modified jato in 132 and get it by 10 mph on the top without changing the gearing. Advice would be appreciated. And thanks for any of your help.

I can't say anything about how it will do in the CD3 chassis but I would take the Mach 427 over any Axial engine any day for any application. Axial isn't exactly know for their reliablitly. the Losi engine on the other hand is a great engine. It produces excellent power and is very inexpensive. I have found it to hold a very consistant tune as well.

redcat 1/10 tsunami base with a heap of custom work.
axial .28 stage 4 modded by massive mods .
hpi wheely king live rear end with custom 4 link set up .
full spool diff and heavy duty axial crawler tail shaft. .
cen matrix 1/8 twin disk brake set up .

and a vid from saturday whith its first outting . got a lot of RnD set up work on it , the four links binding on one side making it hike one wheel on launch's but il get it all fixed . the high speed runs are just at half throttle beacuse it just wheel spins and loops . need sum super grippy tyres and sum more gearing and it will hammer.

guys, I took my Pro-Street CD3 to the track today and MAN-O-MAN is this thing absolutely WICKED. I mean it has always been a strong, fast azz car but it is off the chain with power now. I tried twice to run the car and it lifted the front end up and was facing the sky both times. I was going to try a wheelie bar but none would fit. I tried to make another run but the power chunked one of the rear tires badly so my day was done with that car.

Well that's good to hear lol I think I am going to make my car 4 wheels drive again, which good tires it's always on it's back when I launch it.
Seems like the more grip I have the more things I break I wanted to mess with the R40 because it's built like a tank but it's so pretty LOL

especially with a R03 JP Eagle. That is a bad little motor which is basically a Kangaroo but MADE into a 9 port version. I have one modded by RBmods and with my CD3 last week, it flipped the car over backwards twice . I hate that I didn't get someone to video it too[>:] but that engine is MEAN. What gearing to get 100 MPH?

Around here nitro doing 100MPH is nothing new man, We've done it for years as far as taking it to tropical park that is a HELL NO tropical parks parkinglot is riddled with put holes and uneven road hence why ull never see that car there. Anything under 8th scale size at tropical park is completely worthless IMO.

This car is for glass roads only, and as far as im considered you can call this car offically retired. I have 3 other brushless 8thscales doing over 100 on a weekly bases with zero maintenance. And a 4th brushless project which should push me into the 120MPH club. I retire from nitro and have joined the brushless clan and will NEVER look back!!!

LOL Miami. Man I have NO real interest at all in running a top speed of 100 MPH passes. I will without a doubt take video of my CD3 the next time out and you'll see the type of racing that I have interest in only. You saw my NTC3 and how it ran..........well my CD3 would absolutely KILL my old NTC3 version from a dead stop to 132' finish line. Imma straight line guy up to 150' max. The blazing speeds and ET's are a real adrenaline rush man.

You guys have got it together down that end though. Keep up the great work and since you are done with nitro, sell me that R03 then.

Dont give away the gearing! i'm geared for 122mph just have to have enough room lol

super nitro RS4 next project, 2wd is way too unstable. I gotta break my 93mph from last year! without actually breaking the car!

gearing is something you guys are going to have to frankenstein from other cars or have custom made basically, there is no off the shelf HPI gears/pulleys that will come close to 100mph.

Miami, where did you get that header? i had to destroy one body because mine doesn't face inwards like that.

I can't bring myself to chop up my R40 for a .21 engine, I am going to stick my coming soon AB drag modded 18tz in it. that will be enough!

it's just too pretty you see...
