THAT is freaking awesome! I only hope one day to become as skilled as this to where I can design/implement my own ride like this. Great job! Please send more pics and hopefully a vid of it running.

I managed to figure out the mechanism for dynamically tuning the pipe. Here is a short video.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-k1ZTzaxYUo&feature=youtu.be

It goes from 275mm to 330mm. 290 is supposed to give me 26000 rpm so a little "extra" just in case..

That's a serious machine ziggy, that pipe system is amazing!!
I am working on a new single speed RS4 where I don't have to use a monster clutchbell and baby spur gears.
I really want to put that HPI .36 in it because of the torque to pull this drive ratio, but I heard mixed reviews about that engine.

You will have trouble with the clutch if you just increase the gearing. Try machining new clutch shoes from brass and use the strongest springs you can find. This might help.

Cheers

Yea I end up with damaged/melted aluminum shoes alot, I was thinking there has to be something else out there.
But I guess I can break out the dremel and try to make my own out of brass.
You're running brass shoes?
I wonder if these will do better, they have kevlar pads on them, hmm...

The Buku Komposite material is almost pure Aramid (Kevlar) fiber and is extremely wear resistant outlasting even the hardest aluminum shoes by 300% OR MORE! In addition the Komposite causes virtually NO WEAR to the clutch bell!
The Komposite material does not burr or deform in any way preventing virtually all clutch failures related to these causes.
The extremely low wear rate and uniform friction characteristics of the Komposite coupled with no wear to the clutch bell create the most consistent and reliably performing R/C clutch in the world!

If that was to me, it's a super rs4 (little bigger) but I have a few engines to use.
RB WS7III, RB TM928, RB Speedline Xenon-R (holy jesus rpms from hell), Gotech 7-port (nova kangaroo clone), hyper mac 28 (ehh), axial 32rr (ehh)
just picked up a sportwerks .26 engine. (brand new from an ebayuser $86)

They can be had cheap and if modified nicely and a carb change they rev to around 45k.
They are the same engine as the losi mach 427 with a better carb.
Really a beast of an rtr engine, I can say it hangs with the WS7 easily after being modified.

41,000 rpm out of a .21 engine highly modified is the very max. You can get 39,000 put of a street engine if your lucky

Cheers

Not sure how accurate but XRC got 43k out of a losi mach 427...

Team Losi Mach 427
HP: 1.31 @ 26,750 rpm
TQ: 53.80 oz-in @18,750 rpm
Max RPM: 43,250 rpm

And that's a .26 engine.
Here is a dyno sheet from an RB xenon-r by ab mods...

You can see it spun to around 44k there as well.

I gotta agreed with RB being the best, hands down he really is IMO while i ran nitro that's all i used, but if he really tolled you that.............he's getting to old to be doing, what he's doing....... NEVER will there EVER be a nitro motor hitting 55-60K EVER the internals will simply not hold up.

BTW who ever posted the specs of the MACH 427 motor I WILL VOUCH FOR IT, it is ONE NASTY ASS MOTOR, the silver head version spun faster which i asume the silver head was the specs you posted. I had one in mugen MRX4-R i used for messing around on the street since i didn't race it. All i can say is it was RETARDED fast. To bad not many people gave the motor a chance and used it for high speed projects it has potential. All the RPM of a high end 21 with 26 size displacement, and about 100 bucks for one new in the ebay chop shops!!!! I think i still have one laying around infact tho i know i will never use it again.
