Great news today , the rib and wing parts items are being sent to me from Top Flite. I'll now have all the items needed to construct the model. YEEHAWWW! Thanks to all who showed an interest in getting this project going in the right direction and especially to Chad who helped provide a good deal of the "hard" parts from a partial kit that otherwise would have just sat in a corner somewhere.

Soft landings.

Joe

Guys,
I followed this thread with interest! I have built the AT6 TF kit twice and have a NIB Hollywood addition AT6 Kit from TF as well. This is one of the best flying warbirds ever IMO.
Joe-I now live in Bay City MI and we fly at the Middle Grounds, great grass runway. Come see us when you get the AT6 finished and want to fly.
Cheers,
Kirk

...a new in the box Hollywood Edition!!?? ..don't get me started now....

Hey Kirk, I'm over in the Coleman/Midland area quite often to see my daughter and her family so it's only a skip or so to Bay City. We'll have to get together this summer for some flying! Of course you're welcome to come fly with us at Traverse City and Interlochen when you are in the area. Our Traverse City RC club, T.R.A.M.P.S, has one of the best RC shows going during the 3rd weekend in June. Come on up and see us!

Joe

Joe,
I have heard great things about your club but never had a chance to visit but sounds like that needs to change. We have 27 members and flyoff a city park. Most of the guys fly 60 size stuff but we have some 33% IMAC planes and I fly mostly 1/5 scale warbirds including a TF 1/5 P-51B, TF 1/5 P-47, Skyshark P-40 and a PT-19 thats 81" in span. Just bought a ZDZ 80 to go in a TBM Zero but dont tell the wife she doesnt know yet!!
All the best
Kirk

Hi Kirk,

Come on up and visit! If you have not been to this area you will be amazed at the change in scenery from Bay City. Once you get up to Cadillac and continue on up our way the view is beautiful...and wait until you see what we have in the way of Soaring sites at Frankfort and Sleeping Bear Dunes; something I intend to try out this Summer. Have been going over the AT-6 items and am really looking forward to doing this build. Have three builds going now (one ready to cover and the other two about 50% and 25% built respectively) and will cover/finish all three when the builds are completed. Then it's on to the "Texan"!

Soft landings.

A note to say I received outstanding delivery service from Great Planes/Top Flite Customer Service (217) 398-8970. Called and talked to Mary Ann on 1/21/09 and had the needed AT-6 parts on my front porch today (1/23/09) shipped in excellent condition. Kudos to you, Mary Ann, and to all the staff!

I have patterns for every part in the AT6 kit. Copied everthing in case of those unexpected meetings with the ground and trees.
If you still need any patterns, email me at - elski@sasktel.net
Glad tohelp have had to re-build center section of wing twice so far. Gets easier each time.
Al

All your warbirds sound great, just finishing a TF p40, does anyone make a cockpit interior for the 1/7 scale size?
Thanks - Al

Hi Al! Thanks much for the kind offer on the patterns. I will certainly email you when/if a pattern is needed. That would be a welcome help.

As for the cockpit kit for the Top Flight P-40: I have the Bob Dively Models Cockpit Interior Kit for my P-40. Check out Tower Catalog for 2009, Page 81, right in the middle of the page. It's item number DIVQ1226 and is listed at $14.89. It's a vac-formed kit and can look real nice if you take a bit of time building the kit.

Soft landings.
