Don't understand your reply. You asked who made it and he told you. That's all you asked. What more were you expecting?

World Engines that was in Cincinnati Ohio USA

But this may not be the answer to the question not asked.

Question - Who was John Maloney?

I think OK Models was the main company. Their ARF line was EZ and their balsa kits were Pilot. The Box Flies, being ARFs, carried the EZ brand.

Hobby Shack imported them.

John Maloney - owner and founder of World Engines and it's divisions, like Controlaire. One of the solid modeling citizens of the 1960s/70s that made the hobby what it is today. I think he passed away over 20 years ago. Russ Farris

Wow, those prices adjusted for inflation today would be 186 and 260 bucks, respectively...Russ Farris

Try this link OK Model Company Japan

If you go through their catalog, there is a BoxFly 110 (Electric) equivalent to 10~15 cu.in.

I had one back in the early 80's when they did the three in military camoflage schemes. One was american had the Olive Drab fuse color, yellow wings, and red, white, and blue tail. Then there was the brwon and green camo british version, and the german version as well, but I don't remember the colors.

As stated above, they were imported by Hobby Shack under the EZ line of OK models.

Were great flying birds for the day.

The early Box Flys were built up kits. There was a version with ailerons and a smaller one for 20-25 sized engines without ailerons. The one with ailerons had a semisymetrical airfoil and the ailerlonless one had a flat bottom airfoil with plenty of dihedral. Construction was maily plywood, bamboo, with a small sprinkling of balsa for the tailsurfaces. I had a three channel one and taught both my boys to fly it, even after splitting it open on a power line. It finally died from fuel rot but the wing lived to go on another sport trainer which I recently sold at a local auction.
The ones with the fancy, patriotic, finishes were later ARF's which really wern't much like the originals. More of a comparison of modern Sticks with the original Ugly Stick.
The one in first post is an original 3 channel one built from a kit.

Sorry, I have to correct myself. The one in the first post is a ARF. You can tell by the seam down the centre of the fuselage where the two halves of the molded foam/plastic skin were bonded. I am not sure when Pilot/World Engines quit marketing these. I think the early built up versions were better fliers than the later ARF's.

I have a 1985 Hobby Shack catalog that shows all those EZ ARF's. The Super Box Fly 10 was $62.99 and 20 was $89.99, there is also a 40 size for $119.99. They also had the combat fighter variation of the Super Box Fly 20 with American, British, and German schemes.

They made some nice planes back then. As a kid they were beyond reach for me, but eventually I bought a beat up Box Fly 20 as my first low wing trainer. They brought back lots of memories. Man I am dating myself.

I have an EZ Super box fly 20 and a Super Box Fly 40 both with engines never flown.  The Super Box Fly 20 has its original box for the plane which is partially constructed with a 20 engine still in its box. The 40 is constructed with an engine never flown I'm not sure if that engine has ever been tested. Flu an electric once and never flu again.  Tower Hobbies was the only place to go back then.
