I have a DA50 and would like to stick it in a Yellow P47 or Zero. Anyone know which one will fit the motor better? I like the Zero, but don't know if I can get the motor in and if I can get enough weight forward.

Thanks,

Jeff

Yeah, that's what everyone at my club keeps telling me too. We just have too many P47s flying around and it would be nice to have a Zero. I had a nice one a couple years ago, but it was much smaller. I guess I will just have to find a "unique" paint scheme to do.

I'm not sure why the engine wouldn't fit the Zero ok? I've seen them fly and they fly excellent and they are a bit different.

Getting the whole engine inside the cowling would be great! Bandit your P47 looks great! Do you have a retractable taili wheel in it? The checkering on the cowl is nice. That's a lot of work.

Hey jmohn, yes i have a retractable tail wheel all the gear doors work the only thing i need to get made for the engine is a muffler made by j-tec or keleo creations.

Similar but different, I have a ZDZ 40 in my Yellow P-47. I only mention this as the ZDZ and the DA 50 are close to one another in physical size. Anyway, I used a Bisson inverted Pitts-style muffler in mine and nothing protrudes from the cowl except for the twin exhaust stacks. That's a whole lot cheaper than a custom muffler, bandit driver.

rudytoo i no it might be cheaper but i'm also trying to get a yellow p-38 built with two DA50's & the muffler i've designed will work on this plane too so i need three of them might get a good deal if they only need to copy the parts three times.

Ok, I guess the P47 is the one to order. I need to come up with a good paint scheme. I like the Blue Nosers and have a P51B in this style and may do the same for a P47, but am open to others. Any good suggestions?

Jeff

jmohn,

So, I take it you decided to go with the bubbletop version? I am working on a Yellow razorback. Either way you can't go wrong. The P-47 was quite a machine, bubble or razorback version! There are also lots of cool color schemes to choose from as well.

Good luck!

John B.
