Status: offline 		I thought of a safety item to add to the stand to avoid the sucking in of the fingers, or other things for that matter. Get a piece of the rabbit cage material and securely fasten it to the board in the shape (sort of) of the fan so that the sides and front are covered, starter probe still fits through holes, but fingers dont....use the stiff wire, not chicken wire.

I like that idea, I'll fit something like that to mine. I left about two inches of extra stock on my former so that if someone got their hand close it would still be away from the inlet. Hope we can fly together sometime.

This picture is of a Turbine Test Bench that I designed and built. It will work for turbines of any size up to 35 lb. thrust and comes with a thrust scale and Velcro to help mount various accessories to the main deck. It's very portable size 12"x24" allow for easy transport to and from the flying field. It will also work with ducted fans. This is basically an all aluminum construction except the handle, rail, and scale. I've already built a handful of them. I've also designed and built propane valves with and without pressure gauges and a Powermax/Butane valve, also. Thanks!

try your tuned pipe lenght at 11.5 to 12 inches from the weld seam to the glow plug-that should get you in the ball park......

Follow Jackjet's recommendations. What engine are you running? Why bench run it inverted? If you are putting it into a Byron F-16, you start it with the plane inverted and then flip it over for take-off. One recommendation. Get rid of the silicone 'header' that you have and get a real aluminum tube header (Rossi has good ones) that either fit over or into the pipe itself. The silicone alone will only last you a few flights.

Status: offline 		Here are the dimensions from the Byron instructions. These are for Rossi.81, K&B.80 and OS.77, 11 3/8" from glow plug to bell of pipe. On your pipe, this would be where it narrows, just before the return pipe exits the main pipe. I can e-mail you copies, their too large to print here, and I don't know how to reduce them.
