Hi all,

Just returning from a long time away from the forums. I was just curious whether there are any surcouf sub models out there battling away. I heard of some with the large Jap subs and others but i haven't heard of a surcouf yet although it would probably be the best. As a double the sub could have working twin cannon which would be better than torps (or definitly less of a problem or mess). I would love to build one myself but unfortunately i don't live anywhere near a club.

Also if anyone is looking for surcouf schematics i happen to have about a set of 1/2 dozen that could easily be used for a model.

Great to hear everyone again.

Could you email them to me or fax them?

Hobbidude.

You are GOOD & BAD person.

Good because I had forgot about the Suracouf Submarine.
Bad, because I have the time to do it, with no guilt about leaving so many model hanging.

Many thanks, Rich

I seem to build large when i really like a model.
The kids woody has a radio rc onboard. So that a adult can turn off the boats power if the kids take off.

Loyalhanna has been working on a 1/72 Surcouf & expects to have a kit released sometime this year.

Caswell just announced their new 1/72 M1 if you want to go the British route. Dave Merriman is working on the mold now & you can see some pics over at Sub Driver forum:

I am working on a 1/72nd scale Surcouf now. The hull is down, and now working on the superstructure.

There is a 1:144 Surcouf battling in California.  It saw quite a few years of service, and sank a number of enemy ships, but was retired several years ago.  You can find a few photos on the WWCC website's photo gallery:
