What a great day to fly at the Basin.
I finally got the KMP B-25 in the air. Boy what a solid airplane.
I will get all the decals on it tonight and it will be ready for the scale event on sunday.

JasonP

Hey Jason I saw the B-25. Very nice plane. What motors do you have in it?

Thanks bro. I love the way it flys.
2 YS 110. Way too much power.
I did not dare get over half throtle.

Can't wait to see it, will be my first look at a scale event at the basin, should be fun.

It should be a great event. The GSS boys decided to make this a "Scale event" instead of "Giant Scale".So any airplane that resembles a scale airplane is more than welcome.
They are also running a "simple scale competion. All I know is that the awards look really great.
So you can either compete or just come out and fly it like a fun fly.

Not just any scale plane, but any SIZE scale plane including ARF's with little wheels. The flyer says nothing about size. Most of our ARF's are scale anyway!

You do need AMA to enter the Scale Fun Fly Sunday.

I will be the first to say that the scale fun fly was a great event today! And even though I got beat and will never hear the end of it, The judging was great and we have many skilled scale pilots at the Basin! Hopfully they will be back next month for the Scale Masters Qualifier.

And an electric foamy T-28 beat out many much larger I.C. birds!!!! And Tied with me!

I'll be the second to say the event was great and very fun. Hope to see everyone in August. I hope I can impress the judges again with the Patty Wagstaff. Btw everyone who competed is a winner.

Warbird race this Sunday the 12th. Will Rare Bear be there? Too bad Jason's B-25 does not qualify. Too much C.I.

Tues afternoon, 7/14

Did anyone see what happened to the F15 turbine? (I heard flame out on a go-around?)

Was there a fire at the crash site or since it was a flame out, there was no fire?

I was not there but just trying to find out more info....

The warbird races were fun. I was one of the pylon judges at pylon one. Had 3 crashes. A yellow plane (with black polka dots) got its tail feathers chopped off by his friends plane (a blue plane with a yellow nose). Daves twin mustang wound up with a jammed throttle. He was flying laps until it ran out of fuel... unfortunately one engine died and it went into a death spiral at high speed. Total disaster, but he did find the wreckage. The final crash was an electric sea fury that suddenly lost power rounding the pylon and went straight in. Broke both the wings but looked repairable (with the purchase of new wings of course). Pretty sure a dago red won but I had to leave while the awards were being handed out, I was coming down with either heat exhaustion or heat stroke and needed to cool off and get some Gatorade. Fun day, just wish there were more pilots there.

Well I've been starting to keep track of how many times the electric guys brake the rules. 8 times in 1 hour I counted. Our biggest threat in the park flyer area are the electric jets. They were breaking the park flyer speed limit, flying over the big runway, pits, and the taxi way.

hmmmmm....odd that there isn't anything here from the board regarding the posting about the status of the 'park flyer' area posted on the bulletin board at the field.

Most of you don't know me here as I usually post on RCG as "One Six Right" I drive white Jeep and some of my jets have the "MONSTER energy" paint scheme. Please let me know if my stuff is not gone forever!! The chargers are marked with "GRG"
